These are excellent abstract paintings that have their own groove and indeed are playful, improvisational and definitely intriguing. 'Broken' stands out as simplicy wrapped in a riddle breaking all the rules---yet succeeding. Bravo!

We see of course, Franz Kline's ghost casting its spell in Krisztina Soos magnificent abstract paintings that defy the rules of composition by becoming fabulous spaces between walls of color and especially black and absolutely white splashes crashing in from all sides to make paintings that greet the eye with an unmistakable originality.

I personally see only a few similarities with the work of Franz Kline. Krisztina Soós has certainly created her own style within non-figurative painting. But ... with its disadvantages (and that certainly does not merely apply to her oeuvre) as well. I think many works are quite similar. The proponent will say: see the (subtle) differences. The opponent: see the overall similarities. Two paintings stand out. "It's Sunshine" (early COBRA) and especially "Rex Tremendae Maiestatis" - is this (also earely COBRA like) painting an allusion to the tremendous majesty of "king" Orbán? Lately, the series of video's shown here has been dominated by non-figurative and abstract painting. No problem. Choice of the hardworking Salvador ("Salvator Artis"). Last week I visited an exhibition dedicated to the works of Antonio López Garcia (Spanish master, 88 years old now) in the small Dutch town of Assen. Very diverse, but not one non-figurative and/or abstract work to be seen. Loved it !
