Kristen Kish, Gail Simmons, and Tom Colicchio Praise Padma Lakshmi | WWHL
During the After Show, a virtual fan asks Top Chef’s Kristen Kish, Gail Simmons and Tom Coliccio what their reactions were when they found out Padma Lakshmi would be pursuing a career in comedy. Gail says she’s incredibly impressed because stand up comedy is vulnerable and challenging. Kristen says Padma has always thrown super smart and funny one-liners that catch people off guard and Tom says everyone calls her Champagne Padma because she gets even more funny after a glass of bubbly.

Kristen is my girl crush ❤
I’m enjoying Kristen as a host. I like many of the changes in the show but something is not quite clicking for me. I can’t put my finger on it. I still love the show but I find that I’m not as excited to watch new episodes. I watch them but usually later in the week.

I think there’s several factors. 1. Coming off an All Stars season and having someone like a Buddha really pushing and pushing the competition for 2 seasons. 2. We are not seeing enough of the chefs both literally and figuratively. Need more “stew room” type of shots to really get to know them; also need to see them really push the competition. You get bits from like Danny, Dan, Savannah, and Soo (😢) but hasn’t been consistent all season. Hoping to see a real push in the next couple of episodes.

Kristen is a great chef, a lovely person, and a terrible host. Just because she is charming and a good chef doesn't mean that translates to a great host. She is way too casual and laid back. She was cussing in the most recent episode. What is the point of even having a host like that? Truly not trying to be mean but I've loved this show for almost 2 decades and it has gone so downhill in just one season. I find it really arrogant that she said she didn't call up Padma for advice, she clearly should have

I like Kristen she is different from Padma I like Padma too they have different styles
