Kris Kristofferson performs Steve Van Zandt's "I am a Patriot" live at the Farm Aid concert in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 7th, 1990. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Wonderful cover of Steven Van Zant's song. Steven's live performance of this is great, but here Kris is bringing it to a whole new, wide audience at Farm Aid.

Wow. First time I've heard Kris do it! cool! I was lucky enough to see Little Steven do this live with Disciples of Soul a couple times, and Jackson Browne a couple more. This version is great, too! KK IS...well, he's Kris Kristofferson, dammit! ;-)

Performed 27 years ago, and yet it resonates even stronger now than ever. This is all together, all for each of us, because the whole is greater than the sum of the parts...

Kris is right, we who are patriots have no where else to go. For this is the only Constitutional Republic on earth, unlike every other nation on earth today, we are the oly ones with a written Constitution and he power of the Declaration of independence to keep it and restore it, by force.

If you're referring to the guy on acoustic, it's Stephen Bruton. He played with Kris and Bonnie Raitt, along with a solo career.
