Well looks pretty solid the Krieg rules, I have to agree that the death riders looks and sounds a bit disappointing. When they would release the whole range in plastic in the quality of the krieg army kill team Box I would start to collect a krieg army.

I've only played a handful of games but the death riders with their death commander is a great tool when used correctly. I had them hide out of line of sight in no man's land close to an objective and then when my opponent got close I zipped out onto it when they finished a move near me. I survived and then had the objective on my turn 1, it's a very nice tool the damage leaves something to be desired but I am a very big fan of them.

Yer having infiltrate on a fast unit is great and the cheeky reactionary move is nice. The problem is they don't really have any damage output, a shame when rough riders has loads 😬

Earthshaker Carriage has the Heavy rule, Starts at 5, doesn't move, 4, Orders bring it down to 3. I've been running 3 of these along side 2 Aegis Defense Lines, giving them a 4++ Invuln, sticking Lord Solar by them and handing out the Take Aim order each turn, works well!

And then indirect penalty is back to 4, unless spotted by a scout sentinel 😅 I like the aegis defence line idea I hadn't twigged being infantry it'll get the invuln ! Great q 😁💪

@@SimplyWarhammer The real trick is the combination of Scout Sentinels and the Helhound, giving rerolls of 1s and removing all Cover Saves. Army wide rules see us auto wounding on 6s and I've done serious dmg to vehicles with this strategy.

Man I'm starting Warhammer, and WW1 is one of my favourite historical periods to read about. So when I first saw the Kill squad box it was a no brainer. I think I'm gonna build my army out of these guys. Does anyone have any early tips for collecting?

Hi, the Krieg are a great choice and such a thematic army 😁 they can be expensive if you buy original from ForgeWorld. The plastic veteran squad is a great start and buying from and independent retailer will say 20% in the UK. Otherwise I'd suggest 3D printed kits and there are some great ones. Check out Etsy or Google for others 😁 If you like the era tanks then I suggest Zack Games who are in China, amazing quality and know of no issues. Have fun and feel free to ask anything 😁

Thanks for the overview. How do you source your Kreig bits for your army? I've always wanted to start one, but one thing that prevents me from doing so is finding a reliable source for bits like helmets and long coats.

ForgeWorld is the primary reseller of Krieg models and bits, just not cheap. Perhaps nice ebay finds? The plastic Krieg infantry is a great kit for models and bits but otherwise the 3D print market for Krieg is massive ! Just check etsy 🙈 I got my gas mask heads for my conscripts from Kromlech, although that unit does exist anymore !

Love the video mate! Can I ask about the Imperial Bombard, has it been excluded from the game?

There is the Colossus Bombard is still in the game, just called Colossus, is that what you mean ?

Unless you plan on rebasing your deathriders, you cant sub them in as rough riders. Different base in both size and shape.

Hi ! I'm new to 40k and build a DKOK army. I'm a bit ocnfused with the new edition. Is it ok to say that Grenadier Storm Squad could be replaced by Karskrin ? They don't have the DKOK label but use the same weapons if I'm not wrong. Is there a squad which could be like engineers ? If not I need to change the weapons of my team. Thanks to help me !

Hi, i hope you are enjoying things so far 😁 Unfortunately GW have removed the concept of regiment to make the faction just Astra Militarum, all units can sit alongside each other and it doesn't really matter. Things have synergies together but you can have DKOK infantry next to cadian troops next to Catachan... and a Cadian command squad can lead DKOK infantry. I think players tend to lean into one of the previous regiments from the lore and create a consistent aesthetic. So you can give a cadian command squad krieg heads and masks and paint them krieg. I've done that with Lord Solar instagram.com/p/CoNUo5BNEEc/ There isn't an obvious replacement for Combat Engineers, nothing has shotguns and special bombs 😔 Good choice on going Krieg though but I'm biased 😁

I never played a game, so i don't know if the gameplay if the same. They have a lasgun and grenades, so it fit in aesthetic. Mayb ewith my friend I could replace the label Karskin by DKOK in order to place a leading unit inside such a marshall. Unfortunately, for the engineers, I will replace their weapons.

If you are playing friendlies then you can do what you want with the game, its our game after all 😁 Technically though you can only use the DK Marshal with a generic infantry or DKOK squad, his 5+ feel no pain would be ace if he could lead Kasrkin. The Kasrkin are a great squad though and def0 stick Krieg head on them. They don't really have a natural leader but if you just want them to receive an order and have a little something extra then a normal Commissar would work, use a Marshal model as that 😁

to make a death korps of krieg army can you buy astra militarum and then buy krieg heads/mask or should i just scour ebay and forge world?

They models are different to cadians but you can get the plastic krieg kit and spam it. There are tonnes of 3d printed amazing quality krieg so a more budget army, can't really tell the difference tbh ! 😁

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where are you getting these stats from? I don't see any of these units (other than the krieg infantry) in the astra militarum index

All Krieg models are in the Astra Militarum faction and at the moment they are on index which means all the rules are freely available. Check the Warhammer Community 40k download page for it. You can also see the rules in GWs WH 40K app and BattleScribe. Currently torn between these guys, maybe with some other IG regiments that appeal to me, and Knights for a 40K force.

I am not sure if it's just wishful thinking but the Deathriders Screening line, reaction move 6" 'could' really mess with an opponents plan to charge your line. Maybe a cheap 5 man unit for 70 pts is almost OK. I lost my 3x Thudd guns (guess we can use 2 as proxy FOB's) Very sad about what they did to our favorite lil bomb bots, it would be better if they automatically deadly demised after activating. I wonder how many Kreigers died to discover that you just cant fit two in a chimera anymore 🥲

Thats another unit gone yes the quad mortars ! I've a few of them that are dead now. Nice idea with the horses as the reactive movement would trip up a melee faction running at them. Shame this edition isn't very melee focused and they'll just melt to ranged fire 😬

@@SimplyWarhammer Oh yeah they're going to die very fast. I probably overly worry about first turn charges and hemmed in when trying to manouvere 26 man blobs and fat tanks. Isn't every enemy a melee faction when you are in the guard. It's because we are too tasty. I feel bad for all dedicated those Kreigers.
