Now the scene with Kratos getting the blades in 2018 is gonna hit different

I like the world building going on this game. The architect used to sign all of his notes as Pathos Verdes III Chief Architect and Loyal Subject of the Gods. But now that he's lost another son and is starting to have doubts, he just signs his name. Then another time he signs his name with "Once Loyal Subject to the Gods."

Honestly that’s some pretty awesome use of English, more so than a lot of native speakers even, as we often get lazy (especially online) with our speech with other native speakers will understand our abbreviated chopped up English because of sharing that commonality of speaking and writing. In any case, those are some fine recommendations, especially the first two. I would myself recommend the original Mafia and then the remake, only because although the stories are exactly the same, the original is a lot less serious and has what weed call a different vibe or tone, as it’s a lot funnier in how it plays out. The remake is awesome, but it feels a little too serious and loses some of the original comedic charm.

The blades… first and foremost, they had a feeling of being unique in a world of common character instruments of battle, but also at the same time nostalgic because they reminded me of a classic side scroller for the Nintendo called Rygar. He used a disc armour based weapon he could retrieve, sort of like the blades and like the axe of the newer games. He was also gifted them by the gods, although in this case ones made up for the game and not from myth. And yes, the gift of storms from Poseidon are epic and awesome. A lot of people back then had wondered why he has a seeming lightning based power instead of power over the seas. Poseidon wasn’t simply the god of the seas, but he had domain over earthquakes and also storms, thus lightening fits. The other reason was probably from a practical standpoint, it’s a lot easier and better looking than to animate lightning than controllable water physics, especially in the ps2 era. However my second favourite power was Medusa’s gaze. It’s just a fun power and I love its sound effect. Plus it reminds me of watching old school stop motion film epics featuring the classic myths from Ray Harryhausen.

JAJAJ I love the facial expressions when doing the stick rotation quick actions. So relatable 😂

I remember spamming the sh** out of Poseidon's rage when I was a kid. It's just perfect crowd control. Ha! Also yes! Now you the origin of the blades. Kratos had to get them up to challenge the cold depths of the Norse Hel Helheim because his frost axe wouldn't work and he needed that heart to heal Atreus' health. When he gets the blades had every OG fan freaking out and is one of the best scenes in that game. Lol.

When you know Kratos’ past, sone of the stuff in GoW 2018 definitely hits different! There’s a part of the game coming up, probably in the next two videos or so, with a lot of rotating blades. When you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Just wanted to warn you this is widely considered the most frustrating part of the game. Hopefully you crush it, but if not, know that you’re not the only one who struggled!

Regarding your fork in the road questions you’ve brought up, where to go. Whatever path you take, may you find all the happiness and success you deserve and desire. We all have those turn left or turn right moments, that’s all life is sometimes, a series of choices, hopefully we are (although I do not believe in it) lucky or perhaps simply fortunate to find or have people along the way that support us, may you likewise continue to have and find people that support you, as well as the continued support from yourself in that in whatever path you take, you find your heart in it and that it brings you joy, or makes joy for you.

Kratos is one of my favorite video game characters and the GOW games are one of the besttt. Watching you play these games brings back so many memories of when i first played them way back when. I dont remember the games being this difficult tho😂 There's also more of his origin story to come which will make you be like 😮🤯

I bet you're starting to understand why so many people were being annoying about playing these games before GOW 2018. Some of the scenes in 2018 just hit harder when you know the backstory. I'm stoked you're getting the chance to play these.

And also imo you should play Ascension and the psp game next (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta) for more backstory. Ascension take place after 6 months after ehm you will know. On the other hand Chains of Olympus is another tragic story of kratos. While in Ghost of Sparta, there you will find the reason why kratos is so persistent on not losing any battle or war and why he goes as far as to ask ares to destroy his enemies. Well incase you cant play the psp game, just watch the youtube all cutscene or playthrough 👍. I cant wait to seeing your reaction learning all of backstory 😄 FYI this is the chronological order of God of War Series : 1. God of War: Ascension. 2. God of War: Chains of Olympus. 3. God of War (2005) 4. God of War: Ghost of Sparta. 5. God of War: Betrayal 6. God of War II. 7. God of War III. 8. God of War (2018)

1:29:20 and now all those scenes of him fixing his bandages in gow 2018 and why he doesn’t want those blades in 2018 just rang a different sorta bell he legit sold his soul for them this type of revelation is what I was hoping for from you playing these games and the “I gotta play gow 2018 after this” is why I thought coming back before ragnarok would be better because yeah 2018 is magical but there are so many more levels to it if you know the upbringing and it cultivates a much stronger love for the later games lore

I really hope they somehow address Atreus’ impatient response on the mountain as Kratos releases the bandages. Sure he was a child and “can we go now?” is a perfect response from him because in context it makes sense, but I hope one day we see an even older Atreus looking back and realising, “damn, I was such a bellend back then, I didn’t realise how big this moment was for you dad.”

@@joeb918 you know I never really thought about it (mainly cause he’s a kid like you said and coupled with the fact of being right there on spreading his moms ash’s) but considering the nature of his character it would be really cool watching Atreus see what his father had done to get where he is and know like us because that would be an awesome character development to watch form I personally thought it was weird that Atreus never really tried to pry once the blades came out but I assume this is due to the constant secrecy and avoidance of said subjects from kratos (he deadass lies to kratos about seeing the apparition of kratos killing his father than an hour later says so that was your father.) very interesting take man

I got stuck on him for so long, I had to look it up. 😔 Completely forgot about that caber tossing Rube Goldberg shit in the foreground and that it was the same room. I blame all the trauma I just got from the MXE razorblade rafters right before that. 😆 Just started playing this after seeing how much fun she's having. Been meaning to play the old trilogy for a long time but was hoping for a re-release at some point.

I'm in love with Eralia playing old GOW. GOW 2 and 3 are amazing too! I think you will enjoy the 3 more because of the graphics and everything... The GOWs of PSP are awesome too if you have the chance to play someday

I probably used Poseidon’s Rage the most when I first played. I loved its area affect. I’ll also say that different boss battles or ‘hard spots’ often take a certain ability to overcome. Recently your battle with the 3 headed dog and all the puppies reminded me that I used the grab technique on them to win and you rarely use grabs. Maybe try that more on enemies. Also when you’re stuck with a team of foes and it just feels impossible to get a hit in… guard until you get a free moment and then instead of immediately attacking roll away to get some distance and then start attacking. It’s a huge advantage.

"Painful physical reminder" ooooooh just you wait to see why his skin remains pale in 2018. Its a doozy.

Hi Eralia. I'm enjoying watching this series, it takes me back to when I first played through it on its original release. I hope you'll follow through the sequels too. Also... still want to point out there's a big difference between the in-game audio and your mic. If I use a volume to hear the game then when you speak it's almost shouting, if I balance volume to your voice from the mic the game ks barely loud enough to hear. Not sure if there's something you can do at your end for future videos to get them closer together 🤔 Finally...DAYS GONE would keep you very well occupied 👌

hi, i totally think you should quit the military and do content creation full time! if you're not making enough rn for it to be sustainable, you can always get something part time that helps supplement your income for now but doesn't take up as much of your time, or require as much of you, as the military does. the freedom will give you the chance to really focus your time and energy on your content creation, which will hopefully result in enough growth that content creation does become sustainable. you've got so much momentum rn that you could capitalize on, and being stuck with military duty is impacting your trajectory. the time to give it your all is now! and, on the off chance it doesn't work out longterm, i'm confident whatever you learned in the military will be super transferable to any other career. your service is v admirable, and the rest of us are grateful to you and other service people for what you do for the country, but doesn't mean you should or have to do it forever. do you baby girl! spread your wings and fly

At this point in the story, yes he is. He chose a path that set him down a villain arc, everyone thinks they’re the hero of their own stories, but without getting into spoilers too much, he chose a life of being used for evil acts because it suited his needs and wants and bloodlust to bring glory for him and his army of Spartans… is he regretful over his actions, yes, but it was his choice to be used as the bad guy.

Saying so doesn’t make it so. Look at it objectively with the real world for an example. If someone was in a war, asked for nukes to destroy their enemy, simply because they didn’t want to look weak and to show off how awesome their side was, would you say this was a good person? Not to save lives, but simply for the glory and to fuel their bloodlust. That’s what Kratos did when he asked for Ares to help him.

Complicated people can be villains… some the most complicated people are, real and fictional. They don’t have to remain as such, as we know what happens in the newer games, as it says “when gods grow good”, Kratos had to grow to be good, it wasn’t his default position at the start of these games.

Good or Bad Kratos is still an awesome character and I pray that you have an awesome and safe week thank you Eralia.🇺🇲🫡🫡🇺🇲
