Odin; "Your sons Magni & Modi, whatever happened there" Thor:"WHATEVER HAPPENED THERE???"
The line "could've told me before I poured" struck me as odd the first time round, but I like the detail that he doesn't drink here, only pouring for Kratos and Atreus. It's also interesting how Odin derides him for it, saying "You're no fun anymore", though I'd guess that he sees Thor sobering up for his wife and daughter as sign that he doesn't have complete control over his son anymore, that he's changing for the sake people other than Odin.

Jesus thanks for the comment… I actually never noticed that either and dismissed it like it was a drunk uncle at a family reunion handing your underaged ass a drink… but instead Thor was actually pouring for kratos and Atreus and not himself. great details about Odin losing a grip on thor

Watching his face and eyes while Odin talks about his sons, and the longful look he makes when Odin drinks...at first I thought his charcter was shallow. By the end of the game, not so much. Rewatching these details...so much care and attention, so much subtlety.

Yea I agree. While this wasn’t really what I personally wanted (no I didn’t want marvel thor either) I can’t say that their characterization isn’t amazing. He’s got a shit ton of depth without a whole lot of screen time. Ragnarok has its issues but Thor was very well done. There’s a real person there.

They did Thor so well in this. He's so damn intimidating.
This is such a good introduction, especially for the display of Odin and Thor's relationship. The way he dismisses Magni and Modi as "useless," tells Thor "he's no fun anymore" and treats him like a guard dog only useful for enforcing his own words.

Odin's deal was sounding pretty good until the Freya part, as Kratos later confirms that he would never conspire with Odin to harm her as he's still in her debt for saving Atreus. Not that Kratos would have listened, anyways, given his natural distrust of gods and Mimir giving him an unbiased view of what Odin's like. But it's kinda funny that what Odin thought would be the best part of the deal was actually a deal breaker.

Notice how Kratos only goes for his axe when Odin points to Atreus and puts his hand on his shoulder. He’s not threatened by either of them but will take up arms for his boy. Lovely wee detail ❤
Kratos decided to refuse Odin the moment he mentioned he will settle his debt with Freya.
@SSJBlueVegito

He probably would have refused the offer regardless. He knows too much about Odin and how conniving and deceitful he is from Mimir so I don’t think Kratos would have went through with the offer.
This scene just shows a lot of character between the three of them but kratos and Thor putting there weapons on the table in different fashion really shows how much refinement and control kratos has when an enemy come to your doorstep while Thor just place his hammer all heavy and high authority like. But I could be wrong 😅

videos presented by Zanar Aesthetics It's the most fun to watch Great, my friend, I'm very entertained 👍
I love how Odin came in acting like it was Kratos who fucked up and started all the trouble when this entire saga was kicked off by Baldur provoking and attacking Kratos when they first met. If Odin just wanted to “talk” he should have visited Kratos first himself and not sent his psychopathic son.
Odin definitely acted like a silent threat. The master manipulator in the shadows using his hammer when it’s necessary.
I think Kratos was considering to agree the deal, until Odin hinted he would kill Freya.
Visually speaking, this is probably one of the best renditions of Thor. He looks like a norse Warrior with tremendous strength. Like his hands, even without his Godlike strength, could crush your head. Rugged, yet intricate design of hair, beard and clothing -- and it's red/brownish. If only his personality had been a tad bit more on the benevolent side, he would have been a nigh perfect rendition. Thor is a benevolent God towards humanity and I think that most warriors would find him to be great company. Odin is a bit jarring. He is meant to be an elderly man even in the folklore, so that he is not like Thor is perfectly fine. However he gave his eye for wisdom. Yet here he is more paranoid and straight up callous. Thor deserved a bit more redemption. Simply because of who he is in folklore and myth. Granted it was not Kratos who killed Thor, rather one of his own. I still think that it could have ended on a bit more happy note. Thor is Thor. Thor belongs on the field as a God of men. A God of Warriors.
@justsomeguy6336
Жыл бұрын
Well there’s a reason for his paranoia. Remember that he knows all Ragnarok prophecies, and they all lead to his death. Now he’s done everything to prepare and edit prophecy like releasing Skoll and Hati, which Minir said in the first game. And then we have Kratos, who was in No prophecy, killed Magni, Modi, and Baldur, and kickstarted Fimbulwinter 100 years before it was supposed to happen. So yeah, keeping Kratos at his house and doing nothing was Odin’s best bet.
@Eddy6159

Your basis for what you think Thor should be doesn’t mesh with the story that was established in the 2018 installment. Thor is a drunk who beats his kids and murdered an entire race of human beings. He has no business being benevolent. Besides visually being accurate, a lot of these god’s personality have had creative liberties taken to match the dark tone of the Norse saga. Also, Thor was redeemed quite sufficiently in my opinion. After all the havoc he wreaked (especially in Jotunheim) it makes sense that his final moments were bittersweet. He put aside his pride and grievances for the greater good and realizes his allegiances were with the wrong person. That felt fitting enough to me.
This is REAL BUSINESS Love this Part💎💯🙂
If Mimir still had his body he would’ve tear Odin a new one.

Kratos knows about swindlers and talkers and that gods can't be trusted in general. He's been tricked by them multiple times and didn't believe a word Odin said.
