Kraton 8S Bashed 17T & 23T Pinion. 23T Is AMAZING!

23T Pinion footage starts at 9:!5
I finally had time to change the pinion on my ARRMA Kraton 8s to 23T pinion. I've had it and a 21T in my toolbox for weeks and never had time to swap it. It's way better on 23T, but I need to check the temps to see how they handle it .

Nice rig overall. Going to run it stock before I make any ESC or pinion changes. Using Gorilla Crystal Clear take on the inside of the shell for added strength. Great video. I installed the optional 23t pinion from the Kraton 8S in my new Mojave EXB and the fit was really really tie. I used a file to grind the edges of one side, and gave the pinion hits with the file to put it on my Rocket 4092. Taking that out will be quite difficult since I have no workwrench. I wanted to try the Kraton with 23t also since I´m almost blasting with my daugther on open gras fields. So max speed is fun :) With the standard pinion we reach around 55 km/h and with the size and weight of the Kraton it feels massive already. Another thing; my Kraton is now sitting still since steering isn´t going to one side. Also the shock of one side doesn´t works. It feels like something is blocking there. I looked for a stone or something but haven´t found something. Well probably need to dismantle some parts to look what is going on...

depends on which screw they had an issue with. They might have had the screw back out of the servo saver. My screw connected to the steering rack. If it backs out, the pivotball catches on the diff housing and limits steering...bends the screw and will eventually break it off...like happened to mine

I went with the 20 million. keeps that center diff moving perfectly. Thing will bang out wheelies all day and the front doesn't balloon any more. Running 100k (stock) rear, 500k front, 20M center.

@@josepheustaquio5544 you know I just figured that out lol, I saw one post I had to dig for that said 2.5cst I think and that's a different way to measure it? But yes 20 million is correct . Just found out and got some, and the parts to rebuild the diff. It was so threadlocked I stripped allen heads and rounded off about 3 allen wrenches. I ended up drilling the heads but that put a slight probably not bad ear in the end cap allen holes. I'm excited to get it back together and wheelie a bit 👍

With all the chassis getting bent and Vas’s rant about them on Facebook these aren’t looking too good. I know a lot of guys that got them for review have been trying there best to hide it’s faults but I think there doing not only themselves and there channels a misjustice but also Arrma as a whole. Spending this much on a truck the last thing you want is a main component to have a flaw. They look awesome but imo there not worth the coin which is such a shame

Grumpy Grandpa not sure if you are saying I’m one of those channels or not, but I’ve shown every break with this thing. I showed the overheating Infraction when I was only 1 of 6 to have them. I’m not trying to hide anything. Mines not bent because i drive it like a 1/5 scale. I would do with Deperbash or RCDude81 do with their vehicles. Granted, they are testing its limitations, but I’m not looking to just full-on send it and I’m not taking it to a skatepark. You can jump it big and not bend the chassis. I jump it every time I run it and have even landed on the nose, tumbled it, etc. the other guys straight away planned to get M2C chassis and show how tough they can be. They beef up all their rigs, because they are going insane with them. I actually have told people I still think the DBXLE 2.0 is still my favorite, 1/5 electric I’ve had, but this is definitely growing on me after the change to 23T. It has a lot of the handling characteristics of the DBXLE 2, but I trust this more for big jumping.
