Kramer Hills Mojave Desert Gemstone Rockhounding

Ойын-сауық

Rockhounding Kramer Hills Mojave Desert California. We go to find Jaspers, Agates, Opal. We also find Calcite minerals, banded onyx. Several minerals we find and talk about. We are also looking for cherry red opal and we find a yellow opal that is pretty cool. Tri-colored jasper is also located. Come spend the day with us in only 15 minutes of treasure hunting and collecting. this trip was lead by the OBMS club, known as the Orange Belt Mineralogical Society. This non profit club is home of rockhounds young and old the enjoy helping newbies learn how and were to find gemstones and minerals, also how to turn those rocks in to jewelry and other items by teaching lapidary. Join the radical Rocks community see the links at the "About" section or at our blog you will see out links radicalrocksusa.blogspot.com Thank you and remember rockhounds don't die they petrify.

Very cool, nice variety of minerals and some are really beautiful! Thanks for showing and identifying them. Love the jasper, agate and onyx. I have yet to find opal, but I was lucky enough to find some black banded onyx and fire agates while on a short trip to arizona last week. Gotta love rock hounding in the desert!

I recently started into this hobby kinda by accident, i go dirt bike riding in this area every weekend and started noticing cool rocks and started picking them up. Now im going out every weekend to basically look for rocks and just using my bike to get out there more then enjoy the ride lol. Thanks for your videos, there are not many about this area on KZread. Also thanks for helping me keep an eye out on what i need to look for cause im not sure what i can find out here, rock wise. What types of rocks are out here? Can i find anything in the desert?

These rocks are very beautiful. But it's really hard to focus on them with the camera moving & your hand keeps moving the pieces out of the frame as you're talking about them. Maybe a little tabletop tripod would be a good piece of kit to have for your videos?

@@RadicalRocks You are finding wonderful pieces -- I am really a fan of the colorful patterned jaspers & such. My remark was for your RoundUp footage. Just some more practice will, I think, be the ticket! I'll keep popping back in. I used to live in San Luis Obispo County so I kind of feel like the Mojave sites are my old stomping grounds too. Best wishes!

You can look at topographical maps they show the national Forest boundaries you can go on the forestry website and look for forestry boundaries. You can go to the BLM which stands for bureau of land management and look for their land that they control you should be able to do it all online and then you can find out what the rules are.

You can go online and look at the United States, forestry maps, you can also look at the BLM, which stands for bureau of land management, maps online. Definitely a good idea to look for claim markers. Most BLM land, you can collect several pounds a day of material
