Kraken 50 - Engine Room with Dick Beaumont

This was the portion of the yacht I was most excited to see! I have a 50ft Hunter that is an absolute nightmare to work on - I have to tear apart my whole entire salon just to access it.
When I saw how easy everything was to access - I was truly jealous!!!!!!!
Not to mention the organization and layout. Maintenance - is ALWAYS a thing with boats, but this dedicated Engine room is the pinnacle selling factor in my opinion.

Sensational access to a very important part of the boat.

This “freedom power” system would be just amazing in a circumnavigation boat, what an amazing feature to have if you are cruising around the world!

Engine access is the #1 thing I look at on a boat.

Try motoring into 25 knots of wind on the nose. That 80hp engine will choke

I would expect lots of built-in solar energy panels and batteries(enough to run all the electric devices for 3-4 days) instead of (or together with) a generator. Maybe then voltage management could be run through batteries instead of the "freedom power system" and diesel consumption could be reduced significantly

That freedom power system is for when you're hooked up to shore power.

It seems that there are no sound absorbing materials in the engine room?!! If you compare the engine room of a Hallberg -Rassy at the same size and their sound absorbing materials you can see the difference.

Pretty sure it was mentioned in one of the other videos that there's lots of sound proofing. He described a "library effect".

It’s very well insulated. Watching sailing millennium falcon video it, they discuss the insulation.

This vessel seems to have sound control material built in rather than glued on after construction.
