KPS Gill was Assam Cadre. He was from an excellent ,old and well known family whose father was Oxford educated. He has cracked the ASSU which later became ULFA at its inception. The Congress stopped him. After Punjab he asked for Kashmir ,the Congress refused him. Can you imagine the course history would have taken in Assam and Kashmir if the dirty Indian politician was put firmly in its place. He was extremely well read an intellectual with an amazing collection of Persian / Literature apart from the English greats . The right background for the right job, not the greedy upstarts who sell thier uniforms to the first politicians who come along. Here lies the quantum distinction between class and ...... Whatever.
