He did the Ktuner v2 for the fa5 with my car 7 months ago.... so much fun I have put 20 thousand kms since then and honestly maybe 500 km with out the -20 tune but I run it all the time..... I get super bad gas mileage but who cares. And it shoots flames and in the winter I don’t know why but it pop and bangs way more in the winter and I love it @tuningbynick you did such a good job dude. I hope you are ready to do a 2018 2.0L turbo accord soon

Just as a data point for anyone trying to do this, it does wash out the cylinder walls causing there to be less oiling and more friction in the cylinders.

Hey I was wondering if you could do this for a 2014 Acura TSX ?

Nick I didn’t see you adjusting the vtec tables . On your other crackle tune video with ktuner , you commented saying that there was more tuning involved . & that you were going to make another video .

Did this exact the same way while back when I saw your ktuner crackle tune video! I have kpro too and couldn't get it to work first time, I was modifying the first 2 columns but my decel was 2nd and 3rd columns. After I figured it out I got it to work perfectly. I only liked -5 and -10 settings and only with throttle since it only does it whenever you want it. Also kept it under vtec rpms and didn't check mark the fuel cut off delay also didn't modify the advance settings to keep the injectors open all the time. This way theres minal chance to damage anything if it's not doing it consistently. Also been waiting for your 2 step calibration cause haven't found a good values to shoot flames

The load coloumns might be slightly different in the map youre running, which may expalain having to use the 3rd column. It might also have been that the Fuel Cut off Delay check box. Checking off that box may help make it easier to modulate. The only concern with using the 3rd column would be to double check you arent affecting the timing values while cruising - Hope that helps a bit

With the kpro would you be able do emission on k24a2 on em2 01-05 civic

What would happen if I only change ignition but no fuel? That way it only happens when I tap the gas pedal right?

Will this same method work the same on the base model DC5?

If you don't make the injectors run all the time will the cylinders get washed out still?

For overrun cutoff, if I were to set it to say 3k-4k rpm, that means injectors would shut off below those values correct? Meaning I would have to tap the throttle to pop if I set it to that?

Hey Nick, would the burble tune work with automatic transmission?

How much does this cost compared to ktuner witch is 450 for the cable? And is there a cheaper cable to use

will you still get the crackles even when you have a catalitic?

Thanks, glad you like the videos. On some cars it'll work when just reving the engine, some don tho. There is a a bit of fine tuning required usually

Why does this damage this car ? Seeing a few cars come stock with burbling tunes

You say on the video for ignition settings to go at 2krpm or slightly above. Does it hurt anything if I only want it to happen about say 3500? I would like the ability to more easily not activate it. I have been driving on -10 on and off for a long time though so not a deal breaker.

is it possible to do this with a D17a2? I just want a little bit of a burble

Sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing. What exactly does a negative ignition timing means? When is the spark happening? Is it when the exhaust valves are open? I always wondered if this kind of popping happens because of extra fuel and no ignition or is it like an "antilag", that fires when the exhaust valves are opened.

The negative value means the spark is happening after TDC (Top Dead Center) - What you are hearing is the fuel igniting in the exhaust instead of the fully in the engine.

i’m having trouble with this, i did the same tune but from 4k-3k rpm it won’t pop.. only 5k+ and under 3k. any tips??

Question: Can you use the overrun to also cool the Combustion Chamber? Im driving my DC5 as a rally-car shortly and i was thinking about using this (or the overrun-feature), to cool the combustion chamber when going racing.

In theory - combustion chamber cooling is the reason to use overrun. You would really need to install a Exhaust Gas Temp probe in the header to get it all setup properly tho

It should be doable on ecmlink - I just havent had anyone come by running it so i havent had a chance to try

To be honest I don't think it would do much damage to the engine considering this is for only decel. It would probably be different if it was a 2 step tune though.

This RSX had a 8th gen Civic Si trans that does have a 4.7 FD, but the gear ratios are longer I have had a 2006 RSX Type S Trans with a 4.7 FD in the past and it was really good, i recommend that combo

One thing I did notice with KPro vs. KTuner, and this is with the same car, parts, everything, is that I had to actually drop the timing in the 1st 3 columns as the values for the map/kPa are a little different and when using say, 21.1inMg as the "cutoff" in KPro, it was almost impossible to hit the throttle enough to keep the injectors on without going into a value lower than where my timing was dropped. (Which I'm sure is due to my cams and the vac it pulls vs. Stock Z1 cams) Also no doubt KTuners Fuel Cut delay settings make this so much more convenient to do by gear. I got my PRB Ecu and a jump harness before I'd ever heard of KTuner 🤦‍♂️ Also nice video, very few people actually explain the tuning process properly, nice.

Also do you always notice that your actual timing in the "display" is significantly off compared to commanded value, but only when using negative values? For example you had asked for -20° and displayed -10°? I'm set to -12° and get a displayed -7°, I'll take a log and see what's happening, I never thought to datalog "burble bs".

Yeah the crackle trick only worked for me when I adjusted the first 3 columns otherwise If I only did the first 2 it wouldnt work

@@bubblecash1 The first 2 wont even get you to less than like 23in of vac, even at idle my car only pulls a little over 24in and made it impossible for me to modulate the throttle, if I did the fuel cutoff method it worked but I really dont like having to do that unless I'm over ~4k rpm, I dont feel like changing my oil daily or not being able to shoot gunshots all the time lol. It is funny to do it in an Acura though,especially next to all the Subie boys.

Thanks - Did you try only 2 columns with the Fuel Cut Delay box checked? That may help, you just want to make sure the adjusted 3rd column is not affecting your timing while cruising

The difference in timing that you are seeing is that the ecu calculates some multipliers behind the scene. There is a "table" timing value and an "actual" timing value. We set table timing and the ecu works out and displays actual timing

I saw in your video that you said you are able to do this remotlely? I live in Calgary Alberta and I have a base 2002 RSX 2.0L K20A3 160hp with a Mugen exhaust tha I would like to do this to. Please let know know if you are able to assist me with this. Thanks!

Will the video for switchable cracke tune be on the pin E29 on the KPRO? That's how mine is wired for the rev range 4k-6k but I'd like to change that to 2k-6k but not sure how to access the tune that's on the switch

+1 on the aggressive two step next time if possible. It's kinda ricer but understanding what causes etc would be mint. Everyone wants to know how an AK47 tune works lol

for V4 it is reliable. If you have the original file and dont have to download, that is even better

The stock CAT will most likely break very quickly, it wasn't designed to handle this. You'll want to run a metal core CAT

The overrun settings on Kpro isnt like other cars - Its under "Advanced" - Check out the video starting at 11:00. Using that method of adjusting overrun wastes a lot of fuel tho

Have you done any 10th gens? I tried switching the decel columns to -15 like everyone says to do and it does absolutely nothing. Thanks in advanced

It’s possible on certain cars with certain ECUs. Technically I don’t think it would be possible with Kpro unfortunately. In the fall when I’m not so busy with customer cars I will be doing a lot more of the how to videos

Tuning by Nick I’m working on an rsx with the k20a2 tho injectors all the time works but it’s excessive for my liking having fuel being dumped at all times Do other values have to accounted to change the overrun high and low cam?

My advanced settings don’t show any tables, just the titles and empty space under them. I’m running kpro v4 on a 2006 base RSX. Would anyone know the reason for that?

I just took a look myself - It looks like Hondata hasnt unlocked that feature for the Base model cars - I am surprised by this. Maybe email them to let people know that that people want that feature

Zero HP loss. The adjustments are only to the decel portion of the tune.

If the Accord is manual, yes. if its an auto, it doesnt work very well
