I guess I need to learn more conversational sign language. I don't have too bad a time hearing, but I'm half deaf in my right ear, however I either lip read or use CC because I have a disconnect when it comes to hearing a word and understanding it, for whatever reason. I've always struggled understanding what singers are saying because they move around so much, but if these guys are gonna sign... that's gonna make it a bit easier, er... once I learn some more sign language, that is! Lol

They said the song is gonna be a mix of both lyrics and sign language. They are so sweet, streaming every day on tiktok and talking with fans, even doing fan calls with them sometimes. VERY interactive group

This is such a big difference in kpop...i hope they get all the love they deserve 🥺❤

As a deaf lyricist, and a diehard STAY who truly BAWLED when she saw her darling SKZ members were so determined to make hearing inpared fans bexwelcomed everywhere from including SL in choreo, learning it in their spare time (what little they have of it lol) and most of all, the HEAVY inclusion of sign interpreters t EVERY event they have of any kind. Even tslking about it on stage, and thanking them personally. Theycmde me feel... valued. Now THIS HERE!! This makes me feel like the industry finally took notice, and SOMEONE in thay array of individuals took it upon themselves to give these wonderful and nassive hesrted young men a chance to shine via a label and the financial support needed to do it. More importantly, these young men are taking something still seen as deficit, something that seemingly requires mocking and bullying... and they are going to make a darn career out of it. Not just ANY career, but a MUSIC CAREER. And for that, I not only give my gratitude as a bullied and shunned deaf individual... I will also happily give my support. As THIS deserves all the support it can get.

as a hearing impaired person, this made me cry tears of joy. to see people like me in the music industry is beauiful.

You know what? I really appreciate this. I have 75% hearing loss in both ears and wear hearing aids. Big Ocean is gonna be a huge hit. I can feel it.

This proves that music is for everyone and being deaf can't stop you from listening to music so don't worry because you can feel it ! So amazing I'll support them for sure 😊❤

i’m so happy a group like this is debuting. i personally believe that we can’t make meaningful progress as a society unless we uplift and provide supports for the disabled community (it can happen to any of us at any time, never forget that or take it for granted). doing so benefits us all in the end. i’m hoping the existence of big ocean inspires disabled people both in south korea and all over the world to pursue their dreams even if they seem very difficult to achieve! ^u^

I hope to be able to see them when they go on tour or have a concert! I'm HoH, and having a whole KPop group that not only sings but also signs is a dream come true! I cant wait for their debut! They're adorable. I'm 30 and I've been following Kpop since high school. A brain bleed five years ago left me with hearing damage and auditory processing issues. I hope they fly high; I want to see them succeed 💖

As someone who’s deaf, idk sign language as I wear hearing aids, this is still so freaking cuteeee

i thought i was done adding boygroups to my rotation but OMG...

This is actually incredible… I’m in my 2nd year of ASL class where we learn a ton about Deaf culture, GLOSS, and signing. Though, I know ASL and KSL are different languages and have different grammar rules, I am so eager to see what these boys can bring to the K-pop community!!

This reminds me of Seunghyun from Celest1a. This is like a beacon of hope for him.

Ahh so excited for their debut.

This also makes it more accessible to international fans who don't speak korean but know a little sign. Same signs are similar even if its a different language. And some are just self explanatory. So it hopefully will even have the added benefit of more people learning to sign!

As someone who is hearing impaired and LOVES sign language, this was so wonderful to see! A friend and I used to sign to karaoke songs and all people enjoyed it. I wish them huge success!

I’m excited for their debut! I am just curious, is there KSL (Korean Sign Language), which is different from other sign around the world. Such as BSL and ASL (British Sign Language and American Sign Language). How would that really ‘translate’ to other countries with entirely different sets of signing? I am so glad that they are doing this though! It’s a very good step in awareness and I can’t wait to see more!! (I won’t really understand a lot of the Korean signing, so subtitles will be needed 😂😂)
