It's legal because they bought/acquired the licenses to use these tracks! It is plagiarism if an artist samples from another song without permission or the proper licenses.

side effects instrumental wasn't produced by 3racha. actually 3racha don't make beats at all. only chan does. 3racha composes the melody lines. if you check the arrangers in the credits you'll know who contributed to the instrumental tracks. chan is mostly involved but i don't remember his name among side effects arrangers 😊

For some reason, I feel like this wasn't sampled. I'm sure they heard this, but I don't think it went directly into the final mix. I think they created their own piano loop sample. The reason I think this is the third chord is different in the Stray Kids version and the Stray Kids version doesn't have the same bass notes of the sample.

I think that’s my favorite part about how 3RACHA makes music. They have intros but then center the song around the members’ voices so that the instrumental supports the members, rather than the instrumental being the star of the show. Of course there’s moments where the instrumental gets to shine, but they’re really good at making sure their voices aren’t overshadowed

Yeah, I think $$$ uses a different part of the same sample, or it's altered slightly. And the "Open your eyes" whisper at the beginning was used in one of Ateez's outros, IIRC.

Bangchan, you make me want to continue being a musician! 🥺 Hi guys, STAY and ONCE is here! Is there a music producer here? I'd like to ask something regarding music samples. Since I'm also making my own music, so I know about sample stuff like in this video, as I also purchased some. My question is, if there was another music producer using the same samples that one already used and already went viral/well-known, would this music producer be labeled as having done plagiarism? Let's say if someone used these samples on the video that 3Racha already used for SKZ's songs, would he be in trouble one day, as we all know Stray Kids' songs are very well-known and successful? Or has JYPe already bought the license for these samples so no one can use them? Thank you to everyone who answers my curiosity! ❤

No, samples are for anybody who paid or got permission to use them. the sample used in runners high for example is also used in a gidle and an nct song, another example is theres this one drum sample that is used in like 20 kpop songs. samples like that are usually licensed to a subscription service and the sample creators get royalties from that

no there are free samples and there are also samples you can buy. either way it's yours to use. also 3racha aren't the ones using them. it's either the arranger they work with or bang chan

@@icantsle3p do the sample producers written in the credits too? im always confused when checking the credits of some kpop songs, there are numerous names on producers and publishing and i wonder if the sample producers are included on that?

@@seungminsforeheadyourarelysee no not usually, they are already compensated through the program they uploaded their sample to (splice is a popular one), then after its uploaded anyone can buy and use that sample, it comes with a license to say you have permission to use the sample. for songs with a lot of composers one example is like the one person made the instrumental, then gave the track to another person that tweaked it some more, then another person made the melody so they get credited too, then another person comes in and is like "hmm how about we change this section to sound more like this" then that also gets a credit etc

As a music producer myself, i'm a bit sad that 3racha used loops for some of their main themes or melodies. Maybe it's the way i make music, but i only use loops and samples for drums and sfx. I personally love coming up with original melodies, and it adds a lot of originality in the track. But i can understand how using loops helps with inspiration, and they managed it so well so i won't judge. SKZ are beasts, they make bangers.

I'm curious, whether the part at minute 01.21 in MV Circus is also a sample, because the tone sounds similar to MV Spot! (Zico feat. Jennie) at minute 0.00 and minute 2.37. If so, does anyone know what the sample title is?
