Omg same. I went to a BTS fansign. I was in closet then. I was emotional those days about coming out and I told RM about it. He made me feel so valid and loved. He gave me courage to tell my parents that I am not straight. People always point out the negatives in kpop and forget to notice the positives. Skz and BTS are good examples of how idols should be.

I remember this episode was interesting, because Kevin was there and he went along with what Jamie said, that it doesn't necessarily have to be a girl asking advice about a boy, and I laughed a lot, because back in ASC (After School Club) Kevin used to be so weird about this stuff. Like when there was a question like "Who would you date among the members" he emphasized "IF YOU WERE A GIRL" for example lmao. And there was a time when an idol from a boy group said or did something for the camera, I guess it was sexy or something, or he sent a kiss... I don't remember, and Kevin said "I hope it's for the girls~" asdggjshahskf My sister and I died laughing with that, and it even became an inside joke between us. So when Kevin wasn't heteronormative during the podcast I was like "this is progress right there" 😄

It is no surprise that NCT management is one of the worst in kpop industry (SM in a whole is), so when that moment came, from the things Yuta has done and said about the whole conservative concept, I knew something was wrong, and now I see why. Thank you for explaining, and I truly - and honestly - with all my heart hope that Korea's homophobic and outdated minds can change to a more accepting and inclusive mindset, it is slow, but I think we can achieve it

I'm pretty sure most of the younger generation in Korea are quite accepting, I think its just the older ones that don't support it as much. Regardless, they seem to be progressing with a bit more portrayal of lgbt+ roles in media!

Chan using they/them pronouns to compliment a fan who does art , their speeches in concerts where they stress on the existence of same sex love, Hyunjin wearing Levi's pride t shirt , Minho wearing safety pin earrings, Chan's speeches , Felix and Minho saying thank you to Lesbian stays during video calls, Felix recommending us to watch weird cuties on bubble which is a story about sexuality and age difference , Chan's video calls , Skz going to Newyork pride parade when they were there, Changbin and felix wearing special edition pride shoes... Etc2 they always make us feel so validated and loved

I was so happy to see Vernon and Seventeen at the end of this cause they are always supporting LGBTQ Community. Especially Vernon, S.Coups, Minghao, Mingyu and Hoshi.

I really hope Kpop can become more progressive. Kpop MV’s that have lgbtq+ content are censored, songs and MV’s that are explicitly about lgbtq+ aren’t performed on shows and idols can’t come out as part of the community unless they want to end their jobs and reputation. Seeing idols openly embrace us helps move us forward to equality!

Yes.. jyp artists are great... Jae from Day6 has pronouns in his twitter bio and I know that's not a big thing but still seeing an idol be aware of non binary identity and the importance of pronouns make me feel happy

I'm happy that they're able to show support for the community, it's a great step. But it's still sad that they're not yet comfortable and supported (from society and their companies) to come out. Anyways, since they're idols, it's the best way to start this change

Acceptance in Korea (or anywhere) is still a long way coming but those in artistic professions are definitely usually more open minded. While we will probably not know exactly what they think or even how they identify, little moments like this are very enjoyable

Bro I just came out to my sister and brother as bi and it hurt me it was really hard to say. They didn't have anything wrong with it but I was emotional.
