Basically all SM groups from 2nd and 3rd generations except f(x) are active till today, including TVXQ. That's what differentiates SM from all other companies.

TVXQ has two members now as three members sued and SM blackmailed everyone not to let them back on TV stages. They are the most sued (probably) by their own artists and the basis for pretty much all "The dark side of K-pop"TM-stories ever. (Yeah... those are stupid) And than there is what SM did to Shinee and their members... There is also the recent BS with LSM, SM Ent. CEOs, Kakao and HYBE (which was so strange).

24:29 that line "BTS are more bigger than whole kpop combine" gave me goosbombs at the same time made me proud💜 1:02 that boy is Kim Taehyung from bts better known by his stage name V, Facts: .He was crowned as the most handsome man in the world for 6 consecutive years .He is the most popular and successful idol in the world .He is the Visual Representative of Kpop (face of kpop) .He is the first and only Kpop Baritone legend (has a unique voice and the widest vocal range) bts is the best thing that could happen to me in life, there are 7 wonderful guys, they are kind, funny and super humble, all their songs are literally masterpieces, until now I don't understand how 7 such talented people can exist.. BTS THEY PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL👏💜

@@Anabel795 I don't share your "opinion" and because of that I'm an anti? The world does not turn around you. Sorry. On which "big" plattform was Taehyung crowned "most handsome in the world" for 6 years? He often has high placings but if you go outside K-pop there are others. The first international one he got? JK for example also manged to get a No. 1 there. Most popular? By what measure? because you can't measure that. It is personal opnion. Because while he wins at certain numbers he "looses" in others. "Face of K-pop" also gives a few different results. (and Jin is still the only official Visual of BTS or was since they don't use titles anymore) BTW Jimin won "King of K-pop" a few times. (and what kind of archievment (?) is "baritone legend"?!) That sounds more like you drowned in solo spaces. Hint: solos are antis. Having a bias is NOT wrong but solos?! I think boracity magazine has a good vid why that is.

Personally, I feel like the 2nd and 3rd generation of Kpop has produced the best artists and music. I became a fan in the midst of the 3rd gen, and I honestly miss those times. If you wanna check out older groups (2nd and 3rd gen), some of my favorites are Super Junior, Girls Generation, SHINee, f(x), Infinite, BTOB, EXO, GOT7, and Red Velvet. I know you’ve already reacted to a little bit of SHINee, EXO, and Red Velvet, but I’d recommend checking out their older stuff. I’m kind of SM biased lol, but it’s hard not to be when all of their groups are amazing. Also, a lot of the older groups are still active or still release stuff as soloists. Ever since TVXQ! debuted, none of SM’s groups (that I know of at least) other than f(x) have disbanded, although some of the groups have lost members

Sounds like Nostalgia: you found your artists back than and are mourning "simpler" times (hint: they were not - the problems were just better hidden). First gen fans looked down on second gen. fans, second on third, third on fourth and now maybe fourth on fifth (which began when? last year?!). It's personal taste. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@ruthfischer7615 Yep, nostalgia definitely plays a role, and psychologically, people tend to prefer music they listened to in their teen years. It definitely is personal taste though. I agree that although people are quick to claim there are so many more issues nowadays, it’s more so the global increase in social media use that exacerbates problems that have always existed

I really really want you to react to BTS because if you haven't you're missing out BTS has this wide range of genres and there's so much about them each member is needed in this group they all have something to comply in the group and they have the most down to earth personalities and their song lyrics are really good, BTS came from a company who struggled financially almost going bankrupt they had to share a bedroom etc.., they have went through a lot and they deserve all the hype they receive, I cant explain how much they have helped me mentally till this day, the lyrics in their songs made me open my eyes and realize stuff, they really paved the way for KPOP.

@@juliasvyrydova7222 I don't think 5th gen will start anytime soon as 4rth gen groups aren't established yet, partly due to the pandemic. Generations will be devided by big changes in kpop. 4rth gen started thanks to bts globalizing kpop. 3rd gen started thanks to EXO's debut. We need a 4rth gen group to start 5th gen but there's really nobody as everyone is kinda the same level, and the biggest 4rth gen groups always changes depending on which one is the latest to make a comeback.

dsp is actually still around and have two active groups; kard (they are a co-ed group and they have some really good songs like “don’t recall”, “red moon”, “gunshot” and “ring the alarm”) and mirae (they are a newer boy group and some good songs from them are “killa” and “marvelous”). also the song in the exo part was “monster” which imo is one of their best songs. one last thing; i know you haven’t reacted to any tvxq! yet but they have some really good songs that i think you would enjoy like “mirotic”, “catch me”, “purple line”, “the chance of love” and “city lights” which actually features nct’s taeyong. if you do react to them you might notice that the amount of members might change which is because in 2009/10 three members left and they became a duo.

Who is the most influential kpop group of all time? That's a great question. There's only 4 candidates for kpop G.O.A.T. Seo Taiji, Boa, BigBang and BTS. Seo Taiji lit the flame, Boa broke it out of south Korea, BigBang gave it it's unique style and BTS made it a global. In my opinion the crown has to go to BigBang. The biggest decision that took kpop from a imitation of western pop music to its own thing was YG's decision to give creative control to the members of BigBang. Everything in the kpop industry changed from that decision.

  • @adlaaq

Seo Taiji had creative control tho, so to say bigbang was the first to have creative control is a reach, writing your own lyrics has always been a normal thing for any artists in korea, its more like SM popularized the act of being idols which is NOT writing the lyrics, and bigbang kind bring back the normal artist side to kpop. And i feel like kpop has always been and still is an imitation of western pop. Bigbang's music isn't another genre on its own, it was still hip-hop music with edm, electronic and pop music which are all western pop genres. Seo Taiji bought these genres from the west to korea, and everyone else followed in. The only thing that separates kpop from western music isn't the MUSIC, its the SYSTEM. The group that made "kpop" KPOP is H.O.T. Not musically speaking, but industry speaking, as they were th first group to implement the system. Meanwhile everything kpop did has always been done before. They are just late to the trends of the west. .

bts is bigger than kpop combined, actually, they alone have more streams than blackpink and every other kpop group in the top 20 COMBINED. Just cuz they are second doesn't mean they are close to first. Aside from youtube views which are bugging in bts's side due to hybe's channel being shadowbanned, they do not compete with bts in ANY ways, whether its sales, streams, concert tours, awards and overall influence and being on the general public minds.
