I was walking down the streets of Seoul. I sat on a bench when a woman in a black suit walked up to me, handed me and envelope and walked away. I got back to my apartment and discovered it was an invite to the new season of Love Island… When I arrived I saw my childhood friend Seungmin. He was talking to this guy who used to annoy me in high school just cause he had a crush on me, I think his name was Lee Know actually. There were some girls there too. I walked over to them. They seemed nice, for being my competition and all. “Hi I’m Lisa!” One of the girls said “I’m Jennie, that’s Jisoo” , Jisoo waved from behind Jennie. “And I’m Rose”. I introduced myself as Abby and we all became fast friends within around half and hour. I was talking with Jennie when all of the sudden a really cute guy walks over. “I’m Hyunjin” he smiled as his friend came running over. He introduced himself as Felix. Felix seemed so nice, I fall for people quit easily so I couldn’t tell if I truly liked him or not. They eventually left and I continued to talk with my new friends. Rose laughs and points over, “Abigail, look!” A really handsome guy was looking at me. No surprise he was cause when I glanced his direction he got all flushed and looked away. Seungmin walked over and said that he would like to get to know me again…then he said this. “I’ve liked you ever since I saw you”. I glanced at Lisa and she laughed in my mind I was like HELL NAH, he used to be my best friend. “I have to go to the bathroom” I made an excuse and rushed off. “Han stop looking at her it’s kinda weir-“ Felix said. I looked at the two of them and made a confused face. I rushed in and out of the bathroom and I saw a huge welcome sign. It was night time at this point. There were bartenders and waitresses. Bang. Chan ran over to me and immediately was flirting. I went with it and flirted back. A competition was held. When I won I got a romantic dinner with Seungmin. I hated it. I hated hated hated it. Have you ever been told to be flirtatious with your childhood friend? When the date ended he asked for my number and I said I didn’t know, even though I did. I decided to go for a walk on the beach to clear my head. The next few weeks was going to be a roller coaster and I guess I was just starting to realize that. Han was walking on the beach and I walked over to him, “Hi! Do you wanna walk together?” He nodded and was blushing HARD. We talked for a while then went our separate ways. I slept well and in the morning everyone was getting paired up for cookies and coffee. My date was Felix. We met up at the Cafe and we both had some coffee and cookies. We got to know each other way better. He explained that after watching the last season he discovered they made the cafe cold so we would feel cozy without hot coffee. I dipped my cookie in my espresso. Felix handed my his sweatshirt and we continued to talk until the date had come to an end. Over the next few days i became quite good friends with a boy named Changbin. We all gathered to receive our roses. Hyunjin, I.N and Seungmin handed their roses to Jennie. Bang Chan handed his rose to Rose. Han gave his rose to Lisa. I was terrified till the rest skipped over Jisoo, Changbin, Felix and Lee Know handed me their roses. I was overjoyed but also confused. Changbin and Lee Know, I had barely talked to them. But Felix! Wow. He actually likes me, I think. Anyways, we said our goodbyes to Jisoo as she left on a grand boat. The sun began to set after lunch. A voice thundered over the speakers, announcing a pool party. I rushed back to my room and threw on my bikini and rushed out. We drank quite a bit and I ended up hanging out with Hyunjin…a LOT. And by a lot I mean the entire time. He was so handsome and kind and funny. Jennie did have a look of spite on her face but I didn’t mind. Everyone began to dance to the music that had began to play. Suddenly Felix walked over whilst I talked to Hyunjin. “Would you like to dance?” Felix held out his hand and smiled with his kind yet goofy smile. I grabbed his hand and mouthed the words ’sorry’ to Hyunjin. After a bit of dancing I sat at the bar, talking to Felix. Hyunjin walks over and orders two glasses of champagne, he took a sip of one and handed the other to me. I didn’t know what to do. I was now stuck between Hyunjin and Felix. And it makes it worse, the fact that they are best friends. Jennie Lisa walked over with her arm wrapped around Changbin’s. Me and her began to talk whilst Felix and Hyunjin gradually scooted closer to me, giving each other a glare once and a while. After Lisa went back to the pool Jennie talked to me for a good hour , till I saw Seungmin glaring from across the room. He looked to be jealous. I could tell he wanted Jennie’s attention. Seungmin walked over and annoyed Jennie, I could tell he had asked Lee Know how to get her attention. A while later we decided to go back to the pool. I tripped over my own feet and accidentally pushed Bang Chan into the pool. We he swam to the surface he began to yell because he had been holding his drink. He got out of the pool. Rose glared at him whilst sheep handed him a towel. I heard her mumble quite angrily “apologize”. I could tell he had begun to feel bad after he saw my heel had broke, so it wasn’t intentional and I had simply tripped. He apologized and comforted me for a bit before returning to his poolside seat. We had another competition and I had won this one. I earned a night on a yacht. I pulled a piece of paper out of the bowl…Felix! Me and Felix got onto the yacht, since it was about 2am we went to bed. And of course, out of the giant yacht…there was only one bed. We didn’t mind. We drank a lot on the yacht. We were both really drunk and decided to hit the hay. We both went to the bedroom and then we got to idea…to….yeah. I’m sure you get it. I swear it’s cause we were drunk on a level nobody has ever heard of…I swear. We woke up the next morning and got dressed, we docked and headed off the yacht, just in time for the couple mission. Seungmin had won a competition and therefore got to pick his girl to be his partner for the mission first. “Hmm…Abby”. My eyes widened, I couldn’t tell you how much I hated this guy. After the mission I wrote a letter to Seungmin. “Roses are red, Violets are blue, You’re a f***ing b**ch and I hate you” After that I went to the beach to clear my head. I can’t believe Seungmin…he knows I don’t like him and still persists. I saw Hyunjin laying down in the sand, gazing at the stars in his swim trunks. I walked over to him. “Mind if I look at the stars with-“ he nodded and I laid down next to him. We talked for a while but our eyes stayed glued to the sparkling sky. He sighed and looked at me. I looked at him with a smile, the next thing I knew, we were kissing and I was on top of him. Not sure what happened next cause I was just so tired but I can only assume. But I know it was something I’d remember and never forget. I woke up in my own bed, Rose (my roommate) had told me Hyunjin had brought me home cause I had fallen asleep on the beach. After all this time I realized. Bang Chan had never really talked to me but in the back of my mind…I had such a huge crush on him. Yet Hyunjin was always making me blush. Hyunjin brought me breakfast in bed before we randomly began to kiss. We realized we both needed to get ready for the finals. He left and I got ready. I stood there. Waiting to be picked. I was first and I.N looked at me. I glared as he said my name “Abigail”. Really, really!? Out every guy I have talked to…the one I haven’t talked to picks me! The producer saw my glare and asked what was going on. “Why did you pick her if you’ve barely spoken to her?” I.N shrugged “She’s pretty”. I made a face of disgust. I.N handed me his white rose (locking in his final choice). “Do you accept his white rose?” The producer asked. I didn’t speak and handed it back to him, I didn’t want to be rude but in my mind I was like: HELL NAH, NO WAY. The season had ended and so did my time at the show, I kept in touch with Lisa, Jennie, Rose, yet I hadn’t really talked to Jisoo much so I never got a chance to get her number. I also kept in touch with Bang Chan and Felix…but mostly Hyunjin. I decided to eventually give Seungmin a chance after he said he was worried because he didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of the camera. Our relationship was like a fairytale…for about 5 seconds. We broke up a month later…which leads us to now.
