Kosovo 🇽🇰 • Folk dances in 10 minutes! | Valle kosovare (Vasílis)

Ойын-сауық

🇽🇰 Hajde! Wanna talk about the Balkan culture? An honorable mention will be Kosovo. The Republic of Kosovo* lies landlocked in the centre of the Balkans. It is home to many cultures and ethnic groups, the majority being the Albanian one. Serbian, Bosniak, Gorani, Ashkali, Roma, Turkish etc. are part of this country's rich puzzle. Being in the center of the Balkans, Kosovo has managed to form a very unique identity with many influences from its history and peoples. Dardanians, the Serbian, Roman and Ottoman Empire helped the country shape a cultural beauty that it protects throughout the ages.
🇽🇰
In this episode we are visiting the heart of the Balkans, the territory of ancient Dardania, today's Republic of Kosovo.
Disclaimer: I'm not doing politics, I'm a folk dancer and in this channel my goal is to present in my own way traditional dances from all over the world! Please, focus on the dances and not on history or politics.
Enjoy 22 dances in just 10 minutes!

Hey, would you mind telling me the name of the author/origin of the finale's version of "Valle me motive kosovare", and also where the verison of "Bre devojče, bre đavolče, čije beše ti?" is from? They both sound really nice, I'd love to see the original verisons. Aside from that, you did a great job on this video! Love from Slovakia!

I did not know Kosovo sounded like The Roma, North Coast Celtic Spain, Russia, Hungary, Romania, The Caucasus, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Israel, Central Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, all combined. Kosovo hardly sounds like Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Italy to me. Albanian sounds too much like the music from the Spanish region of Cantabria and Asturias; it also sounds very Romani (zingani) from all over Central, East, and Southeast Europe.

Your traditional clothes are ancient Serbian clothes, you can easily find on the internet images of Serbs from 100 years ago wearing the same clothes, only that when they created a nation you had no tradition and you took our clothes from that region making them yours. 4.
