Okay I'm here to shed some light on this as well as the song dead bodies everywhere! LOL. I've been a fan since literally a month before this album came out and they've been my favorite band ever since. Seen them over 50 times and my band even had the freaking honor of playing a show with them back in 2009. Anyway. This song is about how Jonathan was a coroner's assistant back when he was 16 through 20. That's what he was doing while he was in high school and after, went to college for mortuary science. This also coincides with the song dead bodies everywhere. As that's about him being a coroner's assistant and how his parents want him to have a stable career like that and not give that all up for music. But he was so knee-deep in his job that he literally had dead bodies overflowed in his kitchen because he had an apartment in the morgue. He wanted something else but his parents wanted stability. As far as Pretty is concerned. The little girl was a body that came into the morgue that he had to unfortunately assist with embalming, cutting her open, etc.... (Warning. Graphic) her body came in with her legs broken behind her head and her face frozen in terror. Like she died wincing. The lyrics are actually "the pain between those eyes" not thighs, in relation to the horrific expression on her face. She was raped by her mother's bf if I remember correctly. He broke her legs behind her head, kills her and tossed her in the bathroom face down. That's how she was found and that's what he saw as an assistant. "Who do I feel sorry for?" Is his trauma from seeing such a thing at a young age, and questioning whether or not he should feel sorry for himself or what happened to the girl. Not so much literally because he obviously understands what happened to the little girl was way more serious, but more that the affect it had on him was so horrific and overwhelming, he had severe PTSD from it. He then had to take care of himself because of how it affected Hope that clears things up. Literally just found your channel today and watch 4 videos in a row! Awesome!

i kinda interpret the "who do i feel sorry for" as "do i feel sorry for her or for myself?" he had also been through sexual assult as a child so maybe he was brought back to his past traumas (like whe he said "not again")

to be honest ...not many people can survive the life of Jonathan Davis. he has been through alot and thankfully in the end he is "clean" and as far as i know ..healthy. has a family that means the world to him. props to him and the rest of the band for coming out of their addictions and trials alive .

@kelden8605 (graphic warning) Lead singer Jon Davis used to work as an autopsy assistant at a coroner's office. One day he saw a dead baby come in. She had been raped and beaten by her father, and her legs were bent behind her like a doll. Davis recalled: "She was an 11-month-old little baby girl. Her legs were broken back behind her, and he had raped her like a toy doll and chucked her in the bathroom. It was the most heinous thing I've ever seen in my life and I still have nightmares about it." "I was about 17-1/2 at the time. It was heavy, man. I went through all kinds of therapy. I found out I have post traumatic stress disorder from seeing all those bodies, like how American veterans in the Vietnam War got it from seeing all the death around them. When you see someone dead it traumatizes your brain. You don't know what to do with all this s--t. It's like one of the reasons I'm so f---ed in the head is because I was so young and my brain couldn't store the stuff. It didn't know what to do with it, so my brain freaks out and causes trauma."

If you’re looking for dark songs by KoRn Def check out ‘Daddy’ it’s the last track on their first album (self-titled). Just a warning, the lyrics and *VERY* disturbing and *will* make you very uncomfortable. It’s about a family friend/babysitter that SA’d Jonathan Davis, he explains his trauma and guilt in the song, I recommend listening to a few other songs before listening to this one as it has scared people away from KoRn, KoRn is an amazing band and is filled with raw emotion and dark poetic lyrics (especially the older ones) so I hope you read this! Good reaction my friend!

Yea a lot of music has dark or morbid stuff behind it and folks don't realize it until you got lyrics in front of you then you feel deep emotions stir. Korn is paticularly good and brutal with it's execution of delivering a message.

Actually, I think it's more selfish than that. 'Not again! This is a real crime!' Seeing this broken baby that was raped brings back all the memories that relate to 'Daddy'. Pretty sure that's the angle.

I’m pretty sure the “who do I feel sorry for?” Line is talking about the perspective of the person who did that to the baby. He doesn’t know if he feels sorry for the baby he abused and murdered or if he feels sorry for himself.

That's a good question, if we're moshing out to this live. Tbh we're not really paying attention to the lyrics (as much as they are therapeutic for some fans) The same way you find the lyrics disturbing, you were still bobbing your head to the music, pretty much the same for us. But the one song i know that fans dont really mosh out to is the song "Daddy", the music ain't made for that and the lyrics are incredibly personal to the vocalist
