I hadn't heard of any of the candies before. I grew up in Iowa and now live in WA state. Used to stay in TX for summers back in the 80's .. never saw any of it then. Loved seeing the different items. Hard for me to find candies and things I can eat since I have a corn allergy.
The real tragedy here is that there weren't pelon's or pulparindos

The nitro flavor is a bit more sour, less spicy than the fuego flavor because of the chili used I guess. Habaneros tend to be more fruity and are the pepper used with stuff like mango salsa

Hello, I am Mexican and a fun fact about the “mazapanes” (the candy that zoey loved) is that they are so soft that in Mexico we challenge ourselves to open it and take the plastic away without breaking it, also in Mexico a HUGE amount of candy are made of tamarindo. Sorry if my English is not that good, English is my second language :( I love your video btw

Lately, most mazapanes havent been as crumbly. Like it still breaks pretty easy and melts in your mouth but I don't have as much trouble opening them as I did as a kid.

I love that they enjoyed the candy, I’ve seen other videos of other cultures and they hate that we like spicy, sour and sweet all in one. You can’t beat that mazapán flavor though, I could eat them all day long 🥰

Right! A lot of other people act like Mexican candy is bad and and even gag 😒 but we love our candy with multiple flavor. Sweet salty and spicy but also the mazapán is unbeatable

A couple of years ago I literally ate half a box of 30 in like an hour, my stomach was upset but I got my De La Rosa fix lol Did you know you can get a chocolate covered version?
Thank you for being nice and respectful 😭 When I was living in korea, I brought tamarindo candy to school.. and when I shared it with my class they all were so rude and disrespectful yelling “ewwwwww” and trying to force other boys in classes to taste it :/ I felt really alienated and sad :( it is important to be respectful when people share their culture with you.

Why? Because they look young? I am in my late thirties and still look like I am in my early 20's. Sometimes if I am standing with a bunch of teenagers and young college students I look like I fit right in and people tend to guess my age is somewhere between 19-23. Which is laughable as I am 38.

It's easier for Koreans to learn Spanish because the languages are phonetically similar, both languages are very syllable based so when they read elote It literally reads elote in Korean as well.

soonbin dude I got the gerd eating too much lime and spice you know acid reflux, it suuuucks and can lead to esophageal cancer I’m just warning my fellow Mexicans don’t over do it !!!!!!! Ps I don’t have the Gerd and feel bad for anyone that has it however I do have horrible acid reflux now in my 30s and have to take Prilosec because lime makes my stomach burn. The end that’s what happens when you eat too much Mexican junk food. Probably any junk food with lime or spice too much. Ahhh I wish I had regular lays chips with Valentina and lime 😴 my kryptonite.

My dad owned a mexican candy store and I worked there, my least favorite thing was trying to help people look for something and their only description was that it was spicy or tamarind flavored. Like, please be more specific. There's also a mazapan that's covered in chocolate, it was my favorite when I worked there.

I found out about the mazapanes covered in chocolate last time I went to Tijuana. I like to go to the candy stores. I also buy party supplies for my kids because they are way cheaper.
When childhood hits I remember buying candy from the neighborhood grandma She would price singles a quarter and a small handful three quarters She would also throw in some homemade cookies I miss her My neighborhood candy dealer

We had someone like in my old neighborhood he used to roast corn and cover them in I think it was mayo, and chili and sometimes he would bring other stuff to coat the corn. He also brought really big bags of these circular (almost looked like funyuns but weren't) chip thingies. Its unfortunate I never got to eat the guys stuff I just remember seeing him everyday and wanting to eat it but my grandma thought he was sketch even tho half the neighborhood flocked over to eat and no one ever had problems.

ItaMochi Vargas also the circular Funyun like chip you were taking about are called Duritos. You can also find them in Hispanic stores. Just top them with Chile and lime or just lime if you’re not into spicy

ItaMochi Vargas I miss the elotero :( I haven’t seen him. His friend died (his friend used to sell some popsicles, like spongebob and idk) so the elotero started selling the elotes and popsicle things. Imma try to get some of the elote cups or idfk when I see him. There’s also a lady (or 3 people that sell them at their home) who sell raspados in my neighborhood, one of them also sells tacos. There’s another lady who sells tamales, they’re good. There’s a girl’s mom (a girl that I kinda of talk to) who sells gorditas. They’re GOOD. There’s more mexican things in my neighborhood, it’s basically full of Mexicans or just Spanish speakers. There’s also a small store that sells mexican candies. I’m sorry that this is long.

I felt happy when I heard the person who sent that was from El Paso, I live in its' boordering Mexican city, Ciudad Juarez. The cookies almost made me tear a drop, those are just like my Grandma's. And that is how they turned into Mexicans. I really like how they added the Mariachi music in the background.💜
