    Why does food from American fast food chains look so much better in other countries while those same chains in America are serving us crap in comparison? Do we have no standards whatsoever in this country?

    @@yufanchen6072 I agree. I think it also has to do with competition. When I visited Korea and all around Asia, you can get high quality food for a cheap price. If American fast food chains served food like the way it is in America, they would lose business quickly.

    Edit: The FDA standards are way different than what they allow in other parts of the world. Others countries do not allow artificial color, flavoring or preservatives, real cane sugar, etc. So food quantity and taste is different.

    Why is it that every fast food chain that starts in America better everywhere else?! They are more like restaurants especially in Asia. Is it because they can’t get away with using fillers everywhere else while the FDA in America allows restaurants chains to feeds?

  • @Valanway

    @Valanway

    3 жыл бұрын

    Most people like the prices lower and the food consistent, if average, and franchisees have a lot more leeway depending on the restaurant, so they often use lower quality ingredients or more fillers to keep prices and cost down, which brings in a lot more people, especially lower income people (which the food is catered to in the US, which isn't always the case in other countries. KFC is like a family restaurant in Japan, for example.) A lot of US-originated fast food places are much, much more expensive elsewhere (8000 Won for a Burrito set with a drink and what seems to be cinnamon curls, compared to the US's $6.50 for a burrito set with a taco and a drink for example) and so the quality and ingredients (sometimes) differ, and are occasionally better than their US counterpart, or at least shown to be; they use and cater more to local ingredients, like Kimchi in Korea, or fish and octopus in Japan which have very strict cultural value. But at the end of the day, it's more the franchisee being cheap or not caring as much than the fast food place itself. Some McDonalds, Burger Kings, Taco Bells, etc. that I've been to have been incredibly good and even can look like their pictures, while a town away, the nearest to the last one, is crap, all because of a different franchisee who wants as much cheap and sloppily made food as possible to come out of it. The FDA having specific requirements but also noticeable gaps in their restrictions usually just means a lot more soy filler, honestly, since it's the best at filling up meals while also being pretty unnoticeable.

    It’s not about FDA it’s about what consumers will accept quality wise and price point. Even here in Ireland mcdonalds and burger king is better quality but more expensive. Sometimes it’s not worth it cos for a bit more you could just go to a restaurant...

    The Taco Bell meat gets crapped on in America. It isn’t bad meat, it’s just a percentage of soy (I believe 18% soy, which is one of the things that give it such a fine ground texture). There is nothing wrong or bad about it. I worked there years ago. I worked at Rally’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut all many years ago (I was never unemployed I just jumped from job to job). Taco Bell was the place with the freshest ingredients. The only questionable place I worked at was Pizza Hut. It wasn’t dirty or nasty, or I wouldn’t have continued working there. It was just the place with the poorest quality.

    THIS! idk why so many people say fast food in Korea tastes so much better than in USA... honestly to me they all tasted pretty much the same, maybe just sweeter if anything since Koreans love to make foreign foods sweet (which I prefer savory). The bag of "meat" he was talking about in the video I think was the beans.

  • @JennRighter

    @JennRighter

    @@Camillelele69 it was the beans, and thank you. Their beans are dehydrated and reconstituted so they stay fresh longer and can be transported in larger quantities. People getting all mad about freakin Taco Bell meat 🤷🏼‍♀️ some people just want to argue. Thanks for being reasonable.
