Italian food, especially pasta, has been on the rise in South Korean since the 2010 hit drama "Pasta," starring Les Sun Gyun and Gong Hyo Jin. One of SK's premier Italian food masters, Sam Kim, was not only the technical advisor to that show, but in many of the close-up shots, those are his hands making the food. HIs restaurant, Buonasera, is considered one of the best in the country, and every chef in the country wants to top him. Professional pride, you see. All that has meant you've got tons of cooks going hardcore into honing their craft for years, and that makes for a dining paradise.

That is the appropriate response to a fresh egg yolk, and something useful in dipping. My apologies, preaching to the choir.

Korean food is by FAR my favorite. I live near a military base in texas, so I'm lucky to get authentic korean cuisine. There is a little mom and pop place and they are so nice we eat there alot and they always make sure we are full .and they do really good they are always busy . I would love for someone to review the place. The Korean bacon is succulent!!

@@cllk115 For someone a seasoned traveler like Mike, a large door in a second floor restaurant does not even crack the Top 500 of the most unusual things he could find during his travels. In addition, he’s filming a complete stranger in the most awkward angle he could. He could have omitted that in this video. Complete lack of consideration right there.
That crust was tragic.

Mikey, I love your Korea videos the most! I miss my city Seoul. Me and my then-boyfriend once walked into a random hidden pizza place near Hongdae and it turned out to be owned by a Korean cook who had won the World Pizza Championship in Italy. Their pizza was fantastic.
Another great South Korea video, Mikey can really eat like a Korean person eating that kimchi soup first thing in the morning lol. Man, I really want to go to South Korea watching all of his videos, but I know I gotta settle down for going to Ktown in Los Angeles... Thank you for another awesome video! :D

I was very interested to learn about the difference in cafe culture between SK and Japan. I'd love more insight like this. You're awesome as always, Mike. Thanks!
@saba5603

Seoul, the capital of SK extremely has a lot of coffee shops! And smoking indoors is prohibited there. On the other hand, visitors are allowed to smoke in izakaya or Japanese style pubs in Japan.
Now I can see why most Korean Mukbangers love what they are doing! That looks absolutely glorious!
Restaurants should know better than to tell Mikey that something he orders is "too big" for him to finish 😂
@Goldenkitten1
Жыл бұрын
It's a big thing is South Korea (a lot of pan-Asian nations really but Korea is extreme about it) to have no food waste. Restaurants will literally refuse to make an order they think is too large for the party no matter how much the customer protests or how much they stand to make. There are exceptions of course but most sit-down restaurants like that won't just suggest you can't eat that much but outright deny access to it.
@peyton713

@@Goldenkitten1 Haven't been to Korea personally so I can't say much about that but this is definitely not a thing in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore or Philippines. People might look at you weird if you waste food but restaurants are still businesses, they'll still sell you the dish lol.

@@MinecraftMasterNo1 South Korea is the big one where this happens. However I've experienced it in Thailand and Vietnam as well, particularly the latter where it happened at least 5-6 times we went out. Edit: Though yeah it's definitely not a thing in Japan.

@@Goldenkitten1 I was born and raised in Vietnam. I have never in my life ever been denied food in a restaurant because they thought I couldn't finish it. I don't know where you went to eat but I suspect there was some misunderstanding on your end.
I love how you promised yourself you’d buy yourself an abundance of yang rou chuan when you had money! So sweet and reminds me of all those little promises I made myself too back in the day. Glad I found your channel! Not my normal thing to watch but you can tell how genuine you are in living your passion. Kudos!
First video I've watched of yours after years and years, just kinda letting your channel fill the background notifications. Good to watch your videos again, and see you're still delivering mind boggling foodie content. Love it.
I miss the Korean food in Korea and the best pasta and Italian food I ever had was in Seoul. It’s a food heaven with fairy affordable prices.
Oh man, that lobster pasta and rib looks so good!!!
Mikey I love the way when you take a bite of something that is as you say is delicious and your eyes get really big and bright, I love it that you keep it real.
Mickey u have encouraged me to go out and try all these delicious dishes. I usually just go out for sushi but now I'll try more items on a Korean menu. Thanks my friend and always u have my ❤️ be safe and continue u share with us. Cooks
I've never been to Korea Mike! your videos always make me want to go and now I'm craving Korean food hahaha. Amazing video as per usual :)
That brown rice looks a lot like pearl barley to me
I'm still confused on why some videos get posted here and some get posted on Strictly Dumpling, when they both have the same kind of vibe and style
That pizza looked especially good! If ever I go to Korea, man....so many options and so many little places to go eat at! Pardon me if I've asked before, but does Miss Christine speak Korean? I imagine it's a great thing to have a speaker along at times like this, because I don't know how widely English is spoken in Korea...?

Mike: hat was one of your best 1 day foodie adventure. So many places for me to try next time I'm in Seoul. From the breakfast hotel buffet to the pizza joint to the dessert/coffee house to the dinner restaurant , what a foodie dream day. Yes, those pastas & the bbq steak were outstanding!
Mike, it’s always a pleasure to watch your food adventures; even more so in korea!
The breakfast buffet blue bowls are exactly my personal favorites which live in my kitchen. El Oso is Spanish for 'bear.'

Putting aside the fact that the pizza place doesn’t know how much food you can throw down, I appreciate that places in Asia tell you maybe that’s just too much to order. They all aren’t about selling everything they. If places did that here in the states, people would go ballistic and report them to the police because that’s a reasonable thing to do. Love the vids!
Buffets are always the best part of the meals ....because you can eat all types of food to the fullest ..And all one more important thing.... love to see the way Mikey makes his own sauces 👍👍👍👍
Everything looks delicious 🤤

Koreans are always telling me that I'm ordering too much food. One time I was meeting my friend but I was early so he didn't come yet. But I got a table for 2. I ordered a large pizza, Caesar salad, buffalo wings, and a coke. The waiter was shocked saying "that's way too much food for 2 people!" And I had to explain "uh that's just for me. My friend will order his food when he gets here" and sure enough he arrives a few minutes later and ordered a large pizza and salad and beer for himself. Of course we finished everything...

Mikey Mukbang is the best! The painting of Saturn Devouring his Offspring next to MIkey at 8:25 is hilarious because he did the same to the pizza 🤣
I love Mikey pronounces the names of food like he’s teaching a food class.

Encanto in the background as you’re eating desert! My daughters loved it.

Came in to sansi 890. Its like a jazz club with a live music setup. We tried everything Mike had. The uni pasta is where it’s at. I think it’s way better than the lobster. The rib was good. But I think the uni pasta is where it’s at for this place
the Surface Pressure bgm while eating the pudding had me wheezing
Mikey over here dislocating his jaw to get that pizza down lol
Hey Mikey!! Great video!! Gotta watch those pronunciations dude, how you said Pollack is generally regarded as a slur used against those with Polish decent. It's with a soft 'O' not a hard one, so it's more like Pah-lahck, not Pole-lahck. I even double-checked with Google to make sure I wasn't mistaken. Just letting you know! Would hate for you to get any kind of backlash, we all know how the internet is these days.
The pasta dishes look deliciously creamy, the steak dish looks even better!
8:02 that painting behind you is amazing
Yum
Whoa a Hat 🤠 cool Mikey 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 everything looked delicious as always.
