I work for a Korean company and often we go out to eat at various Korean eateries. Well needless to say I have unwilling became addicted to this dish. I just made this meal as the video says and it tastes as good if not better than when eating out, and much cheaper to make myself. Thank you Cici!!!

I love this recipie, it is a very hearty meal and i lost like a stone in weight eating it lol. You can't replace the korean chilli flakes though it needs to be the real deal, only difference i do is i let the egg cook a bit more on top and eat with thick rice noodles, tastey!

Thanks for this, Ms. Li!!! Chuck some asari/ chogae in there. Pork belly is fine for flavor but so is bacon/ fatback. So is stew beef, fattier the better. Two keran/tomago plopped into the pot at the end aint gonna hurt and finally, as my Korean staff told me back in the day, dump a small bowl of rice in there right before eating, you "country boy". I smiled with pride, dumped that rice in there and had the meal of a lifetime! PS, I would have put more garlic in the sundubu and rich BUSAN kimchi, NOT watery/ weak Seoul kimchi.

The traditional AND original way of making Sundubu Jjigae is to use seafood! You gotta use seafood stock to give that distinct flavor along with shrimp, various clam meats. I've NEVER seen Sundubu made with PORK BELLY! I mean, using other meats? fine, but PORK BELLY? It'd be way too fatty which is what Sundubu Jjigae should be. You can add whatever crap you want, honestly, but that is not the traditional way of making it.

Mason K Jjigae (Korean pronunciation: [tɕ͈iɡɛ]) is a Korean dish similar to a Western stew. There are many varieties; it is typically made with meat, seafood or vegetables in a broth seasoned with gochujang, doenjang, ganjang or saeujeot.[1] Jjigae is usually served in a communal dish and boiling hot.
