800g pork shoulder
500ml chicken stock
8 garlic cloves
3 cm piece ginger
1 tbsp mirin
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
3 tbsp light soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 asian pear
½ onion
5 Chinese leaf
1 tbsp Kimchi
3 tbsp Mayo
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 carrot
1 spring onion

Visited local Asian supermarket and was advised that Mirin was the same as saki. Can you advise? I have saki as in the drink but don’t think this is rice wine/vinegar. Please advise. PS love your cooking

That does in fact look delicious. I will have to try this Asian style pulled pork sandwich sometime. A small point: since this is an American and Chinese fusion dish, it should really be called a pulled pork sandwich. Here in the states, "burger" is only used if it is made with ground/minced beef.

I'm wondering about using poultry for this. I don't eat pork nor beef, so which bird would you say works best? Goose?
