I think when you're losing weight too, you're then more motivated to lose weight. I think she ended up going out a bit more and doing stuff with Amy before covid. Not giving Tammy an excuse but still. I think covid killed her motivation like it did for a lot of "normal" people

Tammy seems to have major psychological and development issues. At this point they should consider admitting her into a clinic, just to safe her life. She needs to get out of this environment and learn to be independant so she gets a chance to start fresh. Sadly, they are all enabling her.

I think the lack of congrats when Amy was clearly happy about it is super disappointing, but as a sister, if my sister ever got herself into a situation where her life is potentially on the line I would probably react more harshly than that. Granted, I don’t think this is a sibling thing more than a Tammy thing, but lord of this happened to my sister I would be pissed that she didn’t listen to the doctor. I mean, obviously I’d congratulate them, but I’d be angry.

@@gracienoble2880 I think it's less that they didn't listen to the doctor though, as Amy mentioned she was on a high dose of birth control, which usually makes people think they're 100% protected. Even the failure rate is pretty small

@@shibadawn This was my line of thought. Though, the efficacy of hormonal birth control, even at higher doses, decreases with excessive weight/body fat, she was taking it and trying not to conceive at the time. I’m sure Amy is probably both excited *and* terrified in the circumstances.

@@shibadawn forgetting to take the pill even for one day affect the success of birth control and my first assumption is she forgit to take her pills which is why she got pregnant. Remember how Amy ate hard foods despite having to be on a liquid diet for two weeks after surgery? Yeah, just like Tammy, she just does what she wants despite doctor's telling her it can kill her. Both of the sisters try to feel better about themselves by pointing out the other sister's issues when they are both doing harm to their bodies so honestly I don't buy for a second that it was an accident. Oh, and amy kept overeating even ending up in the ER because of it while being pregnant, again, against the recommendations of portion size after surgery.. I wouldn't congratulate her either knowing her attitude towards health is still so flimsy..

@@huginug That's a possibly of course, but we don't know the circumstances. I'm just saying that in this case, she may have been under the false impression that she was 100% protected. Both of the sisters seem to struggle with dedication and commitment, so of course that's a possibility, but from the info we have, I don't want to make that assumption.

That brother and sister is exactly what the sisters need, especially Tammy. Somebody that isn't their mother that can tell them what needs to be said and that has a more functional lifestyle themselves to pull them in the right direction. I'm worried about Tammy :/ I also am concerned what the doctor will tell Amy and her new excuse to eat to excessive amounts. The whole 'eating for two' phrase is inaccurate, btw. Sure, there's two hearts, but when one of 'em is the size of a pea, it doesn't need the diet of an olympic heavyweight wrestler. The reason so many women put on 'baby weight' when pregnant is purely because of the inaccurate phrase everyone spreads around.

@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 well it’s more so the fact that when the body is pregnant fat is being used, it’s why healthy teenage females will have fuller body types because they’re technically at their “prime” for babies. The body naturally puts on weight when pregnant as a way to make sure there’s enough for mom and baby in case something goes wrong with food supplies. That’s why women who don’t eat extra while pregnant still gain weight, their body just does it automatically as a safeguard.

@@CheshieD Having a couple pounds of post-partum baby weight is fine. What's not fine is intentionally gorging yourself and gaining thirty pounds or more. Whether all post-partum women put on baby weight or not, the phrase is still false as hell and needs to be called out.

Birth control doesn't work for about a month after a person receives some types of general anesthetic. Amy probably got pregnant during that time, but I feel like her doctor should have talked to her about it.

I also think an abortion (though she’s a little too far in to get one) could be damaging to her body as well... so she basically couldn’t have prevented the pregnancy in any way unless she abstained from sex for a month.

@@grayolsen8769 Since she is in catagory of extreme high risk pregancy(and in her size it absolutely be lethal for her to try deliver a baby, if not a high risk of spontanous abortion), depending on the doctor, they might suggested abortion in first place and she might be able to get a late or mid term abortion, because her size and the complications. I think she enjoy being pregant, because she can excuse her pregancy for her poor diet, and not taking responsibility for her self.

It wouldn't make a difference. It was similar idea at beginning of season one with Amy and getting the surgery together. No one can help Tammy but herself.

I can’t really say that I know exactly what Tammy is going through but I can imagine it must be hard for her to have gained all the weight back. Especially because Amy has lost so much weight, had the surgery and is now pregnant and about to start a family of her own. Watching Tammy’s story last season was a whole rollercoaster of emotions but she eventually was starting to improve and even though she wasn’t perfect, she was taking better care of herself and trying to be more independent. So for her now to have gained back all the weight, more or less cancelling out all her hard work must be incredibly hard for her, I can’t even imagine it. I can only hope that she gets better and doesn’t give up on herself.

If she got a treadmill, a walking one, and walks on that then if she needs to sit down she can easily move to sit. Let's also pay attention to the fact that Tammy is with a married man who likes bigger woman. Tammy had repeatedly claimed that his wife is aware and is ok with it, but his wife is on dialysis, which makes the person on it super confused and unaware of many of the things going on around them. His wife needs him and he's out with Tammy. She also refuses to take responsibility and claims she is doing nothing wrong. I'm concerned that he's trying to convince her to not lose weight and she's already clearly narcissistic and has a victim mentality. Tammy also acts like Amy does nothing for her when Amy literally does almost everything for her so she doesn't die. It's honestly infuriating and Tammy needs to learn to take responsibility for her own actions

I guess? I’m a dialysis patient and am currently on the transplant list. Dialysis alone doesn’t necessarily cause confusion. A lot of patients are older adults so that may also be a reason for confusion. It’s likely that their disease isn’t taken care of. You’d be shocked at how many people don’t go to treatment or finish their entire treatment. Don’t take meds or eat the way they are supposed too. When there are issues it’s almost always the results of a failure to do one or all these things. I do everything they ask because 1. I could possibly be rejected from transplant for not completing treatments and consistently bad lab results. 2. I feel good and am completely normal because my body doesn’t have a build up of medicine or stuff like phosphorus, potassium, sodium. Anyway point to this was that confusion is usually caused by things not being done the way they should. Not all us are confused as a result of dialysis lol.

Let's be honest: The pandemic is a terrible excuse for Tammy because she doesn't go anywhere anyway and certainly not to the gym! They live in the country so she can still do the same walking routine as she was doing before and if she did that and ate smaller portions she would have lost a LOT more weight. It's not like she was this incredibly active and social person whose life was stopped by the pandemic. She just used that as a convenient excuse to go back to her old bad habits.

@@lazycatt287 Of course food is a comfort. I'm alone all the time, but I took up intermittent fasting and it's incredibly easy. My point remains that she used the pandemic as an excuse. It is a valid excuse for many people but she wasn't leading an active life before the pandemic so it didn't change anything for her. She could have kept walking and eating properly. She just didn't want to.

Yeaaaah. What is it, something like 80% of the work is in the kitchen, 20% is in the gym when it comes to weight loss? You can work out every day but if you eat terribly, you'll still gain weight. On the other hand, if you're eating healthy foods at appropriate portions, you can basically be sedentary and STILL lose weight. The pandemic isn't the reason, emotional overeating is.

@A Stranger Although I wholeheartedly agree with every word you just said, they enable Tammy and are the exact reason she’s gotten to the weight she’s at. If they were all slim and fit and she was overweight that would be different, but because they all are heavier (even if most of them aren’t at any kind of damaging weight), them still being a bit larger contributes to Tammy’s huge size. They shouldn’t act like it’s all her fault because they are to blame as well.

I think the biggest problem is mobility. The rest of the family is big, but Tammy is so big that it's hard to reverse it. Tammy can't even walk to the mailbox with assistance: imagine how scary that is.

When you take laxatives within 2 hours of birth control the hormones won’t be absorbed 100% and you have decreased protection. Same as if you throw up or have diarrhoea after taking it. I guess if she’s using laxatives the pill could have gone straight through her

She must’ve taken laxatives everyday for like two months then. By the math, she was already 2 months pregnant when she found out meaning she was still taking the birth control during those two months. (Shocked she didn’t miscarry). Plus she should’ve used a condom anyway because even tho it’s super rare to get pregnant on high dose BC, ya can never be too safe ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING TOLD TO NOT GET PREGNANT FOR TWO YEARS!! It’s like she doesn’t care about her health at all. Also thanks for the laxative info! Didn’t realize that was a thing.

Best to use condoms even if you are on the pill, because you can forget to take it and things like stomach upsets, use of laxatives and even antibiotics can affect the efficacy of it.

@yumeno ame ko personally from her demeanour I think she wasn’t taking birth control , because she also wanted a kid that’s what she said anyway, and if she truly cared she wouldn’t have got pregnant before supposed to due to the possible complications of pregnancy and baby

What is this precious community I have stumbled upon? Just two women watching a reality series with their fans and everyone is being supportive and just talking about the show, they are invested in :D No one (at least from what I see) is being an ass and making fat jokes or being unsupportive. 2yrs is a long wait. I remember when I went for my consultation for weight loss surgery they told me to wait 18 months to try to have kids. Decided against the surgery because the weight they want me to lose would be half of my weight before they would do the surgery. If i half to loose half on my own i can loose the rest of the weight on my own and be a size i'm comfortable with for my body type

Different doctors choose what they feel is best for the patents; though I do agree that 2 yrs seems a bit much even for being cautious.

I knew that the pandemic would be bad for me and cause to gain weight, so i did the exact opposite. I tried to lose weight and lost in almost 1 year 43kg/95lb. I'm so proud of myself. 😁

Yeah, I'm trying to be at a normal weight. I'm just trying to get a bmi under 23, because I'm half Asian. And Asians have a higher chance of diseases like diabetes and etc. when their bmi are above 23. And rn I'm at 23 and my father had diabetes too so I'm more at risk 😭

I am just over four months pregnant right now and the advice I had from my midwife was 'eat for you, not for two'. She said it like a mantra and I had a BMI of 19.5 when I first got pregnant, so certainly not overweight. You're not meant to gain more than about 10kg unless you're having twins, so this 'eating for two' thing is nonsense even for people with a healthy weight.

Same, I'm 23 weeks pregnant, started with a low BMI, and I've actually lost 10 kilos because of morning sickness and colitis (I've got IBD). The baby is doing fine, though. I definitely don't eat for two. I eat as healthy as I can to keep all my nutrients up.

@@TheRimbaldine Wow! 10 kilos is a lot to lose, especially if you were underweight to begin with. I was fairly lucky with the morning sickness and only lost 2 kilos before putting it all back on again and then some! ;) Take care of yourself.

It's sad to say, but I kinda got bummed out when Tammy continued after saying to end it all, because I know it's not always the best thing to be committed, but I think it's a thing that can sometimes help. At least where I live if you say you want to end it you get committed until proven "better". Doesn't work for everyone but she doesn't have much time to begin with.

Hey someone has to stop bringing her large amounts of groceries etc. My friend who was trying to detox at my house asked me to score him some dope and I was like...wtf Even if I did know where to get meth i never would. Also having a barbecue was a bad idea and making Tammy the plate at a full portion etc. I hope Amy has a happy baby and is safe and Tammy gets some help. That while family should go on a health kick and lose weight together. They all need to get healthier. Prayers

I was in rehab for a benzo addiction and them helping her obtain all those disgusting fattening food is completely enabling her. Theres so many parallels between food addiction and drug addiction its nuts

that wasn't a knee pop, that was the sound of her bones exploding.

Tammy needs help from a mental health professional! She can't take any criticism or responsibility for her self. It's difficult to continue feeling bad for someone who puts up roadblocks for themselves because it's easier to continue down the same path and deflect blame onto other people. I'll keep rooting for her but damn, she is frustrating.
