Korda Thinking Tackle OD 3 EP3: Simon Scott & Mark Bryant | Carp Fishing 2020

THE COTSWOLD SYNDICATE with SIMON SCOTT & MARK BRYANT | SEASON 3 - EPISODE 3
EPISODE 3 of the new THINKING TACKLE OD series we catch up with fish farmer Simon Scott aka Mr Carp and Baitworks boss Mark Bryant. The two Team Korda carp anglers are heading off to a syndicate lake in the Cotswolds, where they are hoping to track down at least one of the large carp that it is home to.
Simon and Mark regularly fish together - both socially and also on previous episodes of TTOD - and this film follows their session and explains the choices that they make along the way, both in terms of swim and spot selection, as well as the rigs they like to use, and the baiting approach that they adopt. Simon is full of interesting and education insight, as usual, and Mark shows us, in detail, his go to rig. A combination of IQ2 fluorocarbon and the very supple Super Natural braid along with a huge size 2 Kurv hook… he soon proves why he has such confidence in this smart little combi.
.
It’s Autumn, the lake looks amazing, but it certainly isn’t an easy water, despite Mark knowing it well and having caught some of it’s big residents in the past. It is Simon’s first time here and he is relying on Marks information to get him on the right spots.
As the weather conditions change throughout the session they have to adapt their tactics in order to try and get a bite, and that involves taking advantage of fish activity that they have been seeing and remaining mobile - and for Simon that also involves baiting a few spots in the margins where he can possibly employ one of his favourite styles of fishing, stalking.
This venue is fairly typical of many syndicate and club lakes up and down the country, where anglers fishing those will face similar challenges. In true THINKING TACKLE style EPISODE 3 features some great info on how to get the best from your time available on the bank. Insights, baiting, finding spots, water craft and some nice edges are all showcased by the two anglers who have some serious combined knowledge of everything to do with carp fishing. If you take this information and apply it to your own fishing it will, hopefully, lead to you catching something like the epic fish Mark is rewarded with at the end of their trip.
As always, THINKING TACKLE OD goes into great detail as to exactly how he caught this fish- plus several others - so that you can easily replicate it yourself and catch more carp.

Simon Scott is such a good narrator. Not only a carp genius
Not a “bosh, got him” in sight. Two serious anglers who clearly love their angling. Cracking mirror at the end too.

Picturesque, tranquil and beautiful footage. With two top blokes. Brilliant.
Very refreshing, nice to see two different anglers on a Thinking Tackle. And not just any anglers but these two greats. Thanks Korda for breaking the mould this was extremely enjoyable.

One of the best korda videos. Both great fisherman, mark makes top notch bait too.
2 of my favorite UK carp narrators. Lovely stuff, thanks.
Simon and mark work great together and I really enjoyed learning and listening to every word they had to say more from these guys please 😁!!!

Simon and mark are a great partnership please make more videos with these guys in the future.
Great video guys just makes me want to get the rods out really enjoyed so much thank you for sharing and great fish to finish
Absolutely Brilliant !! 👏🏼 Two EPIC gentlemen.. very interesting, informative & educational. Loved Simons narration. I felt it was a REAL showcase of everyday fishing. It’s good to see the blank (only as it’s what actually happens in fishing),.. you don’t always catch 🤷🏽♀️ and Simon took it on the chin; no sulking ! 👍 It was good to see the smaller carp being welcomed just as much as the 40lber (they’ve got to start growing somewhere!) Overall? .. Loved everything about it. Thanks Korda. Look forward to the next one 😏🎣
Two top blokes.. both masters at what they do.. thanks lads great watch that.. always learn something from these two.. 👍🏼
Well done Mark, beautiful lake, wonderful fish, good angling
You got too love these two guys.
Absolutely fantastic, what a place and what a result, congratulations Mark 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎣🐳 #works
I actually enjoyed this . As I really like mark's style of fishing . And simon what can I say a true carpy legend . And some really good tips from both .
Really enjoyed this Korda, thanks Mark and Simon for sharing this, had the pleasure to learn alot off Simon at Sparsholt, many years ago, the man truly knows his stuff about fishing and fish care and a true legend, I'm sure you will catch a whopper like Marks soon, Tight Lines to you both 👍🐟🎣
A really great video. The quality of the clips and how it has all been put together is fantastic, well done.
Always an education watching Simon and mark. Great episode

If you have access to Cypography watch Episode 16 where Simon talks about carp behaviour and various times of the year and it's fascinating, he knows so much.
Without question 2 of the most intelligent anglers out there. Simons knowledge of carp speaks for its self and Marks knowledge of bait and producing bait is second to none!
Wow what an episode hard goin but Mark got there with that stunning 40 poor old Simon I felf for ya buddy but that's carp fishing as you well know. Great session tho fellas well done looking forward to the next one 👍🏻👌🏻👍🏻👌🏻
Absolutely lovely video, the greatest TT so far. Love those 2 chaps. PS: Somebody get Simon a new hat :D
That time lapse into drone transition is epic!

Nice little film that. Cracking way to finish. Feel sorry that Simon blanked but that's fishing. Just goes to show how hard some small estate type lakes can be sometimes, even for some of the very best in the business.

Much better than the last one!
I'd love to see Simon an Mark fishing alongside Carl an Alex. Maybe Ali in the middle all legends in my book :)
That first fish was a lovely littl'un
Oglądamy 😁😁😁 KARPY
Great film and great result at the end. Just a question, what was the weather app Mark was using towards the end?
Lovely ..
Best one yet, two proper carping gents who don’t feel the need to shout GET IN! and swear every 2 minutes 😂
Simons narrating reminded me of Chris Yates on this one.
What bank stick is mark using for his optonics??
Mark I noticed the rig you made, saying the loop wouldn't move in casting, how would this fair with a PVA stick attached, as I noticed due to the power of the cast the loop with bait would be pushed back to the eye of the hook
Where are them nice size bait scoops from that mark is using
Haven’t seen it yet but I bet ccmore and bait works will be featured knowing marks in it

Mark pitchers is associated with cc moore. This is Mark Bryant, owner of baitworks and I assume this lake. Nothing but good things to say about baitworks in my experience. Been using atlantic heat for years.
No finger protection?
I think Simon Scott put his hat through the Ridgemonkey crusher, either that or he pinched it off of Worzel Gummidge.
Bit john wilson 4 me not gonna lie first 2 were great though
I’d have been fuming being invited somewhere for the guy inviting me jumps in same swim as me let alone the better side of swim lol

Would love to see Simon some more in front of the camera 😊
Just about to watch it, but really didn't want to see all the preview stuff at the start, spoils the anticipation. Bit like flicking forward in a book to see all the pics so you know whats caught before you've read it :-(
