Korda Carp Fishing Masterclass Vol 6 - CHAPTER X (Carp Fishing Video | DVD)
Darrell Peck demonstrates some essential spring tactics at Baden Hall Fisheries, Staffordshire - a day ticket lake anyone can visit. In keeping with the ‘No Privileges’ theme there are no swims roped off and there has been no pre-baiting. Darrell uses several carp fishing rigs, baits and techniques to catch some impressive big carp.
Learn key questions that can make all the difference when approaching a new lake. Getting little pieces of information from regulars can be so useful, but ultimately Darrell sticks to the tactics he uses everywhere in order to catch.
Zig rigs are first on the agenda with a full explanation of how these are created using just a few key Korda end-tackle components. Darrell goes through a step-by-step guide on how he ties his version of a zig rig, and also explains the variation in baits that complements it.
The first trip to the lake sees a change of swim after the first night, as Pecky tries to not only learn the lake, but to catch for the cameras. Using the marker float to get some additional knowledge about the lake at the end of the first session proves vital when they re-visit the lake a week later.
Week two starts with better weather and clearer water, and Darrell is more confident of catching. After some adjustments, based on what he learnt from the first trip, two fish are caught in quick succession. A foul-hooked fish can’t be counted, but that is soon forgotten when a pristine 38lb common carp graces the bank.
Look, see and adjust the position of the rigs is the tactic Pecky sticks to and proves himself right, including using his favourite black foam. “Black foam in the dark… if you doubted it before, you won’t anymore” as Darrell catches another one in the pitch black of night.
Later in the film, Mr Peck decides to fish on the bottom and uses the now famous Spinner Rig. Sweetcorn, maggots and crushed boilies are on the menu. In Pecky’s words “Spinner rigs, big heavy leads and yellow pop-ups… let’s just hope they turn up”.
Overall this chapter is full of hints, tactics and really useful advice that will help you put more fish on the bank. Darrell Peck is known for catching fish anywhere he goes, and these well thought out spring tactics will ensure you can do the same.

It’s so good to see a fishing channel as big as Korda putting a video up where it shows a blank.
I’d go bat shit crazy stuck in those garden sheds, this place is the definition of a hole in the ground to me.
Informative video, I appreciate these day ticket fisheries need to make money to survive but 17 other anglers, spombing, leading, bleeping bite alarms and then the Virgin train bombing through! Hell on earth and not what I want from a days fishing, I'll stick to syndicates with low stock and smaller fish where I can move about without having to ask!
If I set off a drone on my local I would be booted off, special treatment right there.

As much as i like darrell, these aren’t really no privileges sessions, the drone gave him loads of info for his next session and the bluebell one last year he got told the spot and given the swim by a regular, this stuff doesn’t happen for the average angler

Same. Shame too. He'd already utilised methods to great effect- observation, keeping mobile, listening to regulars but keeping an open mind, using elimination to get results. All good stuff then BANG unpack the drone oh look there they all are... Don't want to get on the Korda hating bandwagon but that's some bullsh*t right there

So your not allowed as an average angler to ask people the spots , yes the drone is a bit specialist, but technically you could buy one. In my eyes, still no privileges

Sam Caton you could ask, but your not always gunna get that info, i’d say he got that info due to who he was, ok we’ll all just do away with watercraft and buy drones with monitors, got no problem with them doing it but you can’t call it no privileges, it’s supposed to represent the average anglers, no roped off swims, no pre baited spots, no drone

My theory is "No privileges" to Darrell is not having a water all to himself or roped off or prebaited or being able to move onto showing fish.. anything else that happens could happen to us regular anglers, e.g talking to people getting tips etc, i cant understand people slagging these vids off though we all no half of it aint possible to average joes but i just appreciate the content to watch for free

I really enjoyed this video, but it’s based on ‘no privileges’, however; on the venues website it mentions a bait ban for non-biodegradable baits (eg. Plastic bait) yet black foam was used for Dals zig rigs. Just a thought.
I know Darrell didn’t need the drone and I agree it seem to give him an edge with zig depth. That being said Korda giving these vids out for free is amazing and always bang full of tips.
I'd never fish there but I certainly wouldn't knock anyone that does, good insight to a different world..

Very luxury Idea to use the Drone to see how many carp is in there. Very useful idea to prove that there is enough carp in the dam and also learn your dam how the carps are swimming around. I have a very important question to ask, Will the drone work for dam's that is not very clean or the water is not very clear enough to see the carp in the dam? Is there a special camera lens you need to use for it? Reason for that is because most of the dam in South Africa is not very clean or clear water.

Not knocking this video in particular, but how long before venues start banning drones?
I dare say this bloke is an expert in his field but I'd rather move constantly along a mile stretch of a stream and catch a 3lb wild chub than constantly stress about ringing up a bloke in an office to ask if I can move swims trying to catch one of these lumps. Those garden sheds look awful. I fish to be outside.
I am getting my drone set up to drop baits from. right on the fish does everyone think it's ok or will I get banned from the lakes just a thought got a bait boat aswell was thinking of herding the fish towards my baits
Every one bangs on about leading about and marker floating, but if your surrounded by anglers and your only there for a short time, I prefer to use deeper once or twice less disturbance with same but better results.

And that's why I don't fish zigs due to foul hooking, its happen to me twice, b4, no need to question it in my opinion, nice fish tho.

Great angler and personality I really think pecky makes korda. I think he saved this masterclass series to be honest. I do think they could of chose a more suitable lake for this episode tho in my opinion. And hopefully to save our sport drones and fish spy devices should be banned from lakes it’s getting a joke!

@@mrburns2429 theres plenty of others about too, maybe not as prolific but the likes of jim shelly etc still put stuff out there, end of the day these guys are living a lifestyle we mere mortals can never get near so just a tip here and there and then go make your own discoveries is what its supposed to be about! I think its shit that we are seeing every man and his dog is getting spoonfed the stuff we should be enjoying learning for ourselves and at end of the day the info is only being given so we buy the products they use to make up the rigs and so on, all a racket.

And....i love pecky but why use diffusers pop up pots and then not use them.....ie just a pot no diffuser??.....u may as well soak em in goo in the mainline pot....just saying...

wez karl becouse people who owns lakes thinks that in that way you get more fish (in some cases carp eat zig and diee etc)that you with zig don’t feed fish enough like with boiles .... and other reasons that is not normal to me unfortunately...
Get on the adjustable zigs.....a firm called korda do one....

Darrel's a very good carp angler but he ain't in the same league as Hearn. Terry is probably the best of the best when it comes to carp, and up there with the very best specialist anglers when it comes to other species. As a complete angler Terry is premier league, Darrel Division 1.

Each to his own but zig fishing, id rather not go. Nice fish, now ill swich off after 10 minutes.
RIP Baden hall - gonna be chocker now, it was already bad enough :(. Great vid though.

it is because at that lake all 24 hour tickets run from midday to midday and you off at midday the next day regardless of if you turn up late

Was disappointed when the drone thing happen’d. Thought Darrel was better then that.
I was hoping buy no privileges he was going to buy all his end tackle and bait from a shop he has spent his money on not sponsored gear !

Horrible hole in the ground or what? I don't care what fish are in it, doing a session there would be enough for me to give up carp fishing. Waters like these are for sad noddies, they really are. It's Battery Chicken carp fishing. Tip to owner, knock down the stupid sheds, reduce the # of swims, let the bank grow back & stop people parking behind their swims... then, maybe. Else, another fine video from Mr Peck & Co. Thanks guys.
