I can't believe I just discovered this song. I can't get enough!

I was 14 years old when I first heard this piece. On the streets of Baltimore . Wow ! Watching all the players back in the day. I come from a large family. I think of Mom & Dad my siblings 5 4boys & one girl in the middle. It was about 50 of us who lived in one 5 block radius and everybody knew our family. Filled with nothing but love. And when listen to Summer madness with my eyes closed I can almost reach out and touch that time , place and feeling again. The girls I had crushes on but just admired them from a far. The style I had made me one of the coolest young cats above the rest . Thank you Kool And The Gang for Summer Madness.

Its a playback, but this piece of music is amazing. I can't think of any more chill song that exists. Not even albatross by fletwood mac. And this song captures summer perfectly. At least for me. I imagine myself at beach caffe, drinking coffee and soaking hot summer rays, just relaxing after a hard shift and waiting to go for a swim in the sea.

You have to be on a different level to compose something like this.

Haunting, cool, melancholic, reflective, emotional and soulful is the best way I can describe this track. Lucky to have this in our lives. The talented and amazing side of human beings

Kool and the Gang were excellent instrumentalists at a time when singing was the thing and such gems didn't quite get the appreciation they were truly worth.

This piece is still banging in 2023.

I'm just a 54 year old white dude with no rhythm, BUT I do have soul. The early 70's stuff from Issac, Kool, Commodores, Spinners, O'Jays, Al Green, etc. is some of the best music ever made.

Timeless masterpiece. These men are cool as a cucumber in their own vibe and loving every minute of it. I remember as a kid, standing in front of that big ass TV on the floor with a pair of pliers changing channels and finding Soul Train.

70’s golden age of music 🎼 some many of today’s artist have samples songs like this one ☝️ but nothing beats the original

The thing that gets me about this one is that it's so simple musically but it is not at all elementary. It's deep and sophisticated.

The Live version of this masterpiece, 25 years or so later (on KZread), is very special.

I cannot put into words how hearing this song makes me feel.

RIP Ronald 'Khalis' Bell ---- This one song is for me the perfect musical expression of a summer sunset, cool drink in hand, good friends and the warmth of the day still lingering on your skin. Heaven surely has the most incredible band. Soar, Khalis, soar beyond this world and into perfect bliss.

This was my mother’s favorite song. 🙏🏾❤10-28-2016🙏🏾❤. Miss her every day. This song never gets old, brings back a lot of memories. She and I would take road trips and I always had her favorite group jamming…..Kool and the Gang. Thanks and blessings to all band members still with us and those that are giving my mother a never ending concert.❤❤❤❤❤

Relaxing to this 5/2/2024 on repeat... while laying in the tub with the water on a slow hot drip. Today makes year 5 since my Grandmother passed... my best friend. Yesterday, we celebrated her heavenly birthday. Full of all kinds of emotions right now. But GOD!!! 🫶🏼💓💗💞👋🏽🙏🏼🙌🏼 🍉

A truly great and timeless song, composed by Kool & the Gang. The synth Ronald Bell was brilliantly playing the octave jumps and the solo on was an "Arp 2600". (Developed by a design team headed by "ARP" namesake Alan R. Pearlman and engineer Dennis Colin in 1970). The magical sounding string washes were done on a Mellotron.

If there was ever a song that reminds me of my youth in the 1970’s it’s this song. Please take a moment and remember with me…….. Whether I was still in my PJ’s on the living room floor wrapped in a blanket watching Soul Train, riding my bicycle through my neighborhood saying my hellos or at a bbq somewhere enjoying all the sights, smells and sounds of men & women drinking beer, laughing and dancing those Summer Time weekends were and always will be playing in my head. Also it’s my belief everyone lives by a certain song playing in their head. This would be mine if I had to choose one for every occasion. Stay “Summer Time” everyone! ✌🏽🤔
