@@hyperdog67 i feel Big L used the rhyme schemes with the same structure...i think his punchlines were a bit more effective than Kool G Rap's and why most people rank L higher...honestly I rock hard with both and was molded by their craft...i feel like Kool G Rap adapted to all era's as far as lyrical ability...but then again thats all i care about...KRS ONE said "mc's are just hopeless, thinking record sales make them the dopest" he dropped a lot of shit on "Rapture's Delight"...Big L said himself on "I Don't Understand It" "Going platinum, and aint got no soul, Some rappers is mad nice, and dont even go gold, i don't like the way it's going down, because it should be the other way around, I dont understand it"...Bars over everything

Kool wasn’t just a lyrical genius, he was a pioneer. He was one of the first rappers to show his human side of things in his music. Most rappers acted like Goliath and they were untouchable, yet Road to Riches showed himself as a man with a plan. I also liked how Money in the Bank was like a continuation of Road to Riches. Best Hip Hop song ever is Erase Racism by him, Big Daddy, And Biz.

G-Rap, what can I say? Other than I have him over Kane easy. Not taking nothing away from Kane but we going to be real today. I’ve sat back long enough hearing some people not giving G rap his propers on these lists. We’re getting it right today. I’m 48 and G rap, Kane and Rakim a year older than me. My point is in 86 when G came out with Rhyme time, his lyrics were flawless. He grabbed my attention the same way LL Cool J did in 84 with big words. Nobody was rhyming like that. Let me get back to my point between Kane and G Rap, on Kane first two albums he had like 5 good joints on each of those two albums to me. After those first two albums he was Finished, through, done. Why? because he wanted to be a damn chocolate Dracula lol. That’s what ultimately did him in. I know that whole back story about him changing up was because Bobby Brown and all them were touring heavy together back then. Anyway G Rap kept pushing and turning out album after album. G Rap catalogs are extensive and fire period. Kane and Rakim still in my top three though. G rap that dude is what I’m saying. No disrespect to anyone else for their opinion. I’m just very passionate about my era of Hip Hop 80s and 90s that’s it

Peace Power & Positivity fam. Once again you shined light on one of the GREATS, and I applaud you for that. Now, the only complaint I have on this episode is, you didn't mention the influence G-Rap had on early hip-hop that birthed the 2nd coming of the golden age. People like Nas, Big Pun, Black Thought, Royal Flush, & Prodigy (Mobb Deep). Although, G-Rap never gets the proper accolades, his impact is felt on the generation of emcees that he cultivated. Nevertheless, keep on doing your thing, hip-hop needs these lessons.

@@TheFoundationhiphop nice vid. Kool G Rap is precursor to Nas. A rapper is in luck if they get influenced by another rapper but their voice sounds mad different. If you use the flow with a similar voice it can be a problem and I can name some. (unrelated) Here's some gems: 1) Divine Styler - 16. Microphenia (1999) 2) Sylk Smoov , Q-Tip & Phife of ATCQ Wake Up Show '92 3) Silver Bullet - Bring Forth the Guillotine (1989) 4) "Big Mama" by Roxanne Shanté (1992) 5 DIAMOND D - FLYING HIGH (Official Video) ft. POSDNUOS (2023) 6) Rasheed Chappell - 1520 (2024) 7) Rasheed Chappell - Twisted Bells (2024) 8) Your Old Droog x MF DOOM - Dropout Boogie (Prod by Edan) (2024) 9) DJ Design - The Blues feat.
