Hey, what's up, folks? Ready to dive into the audio world with me? Today, we're unboxing, testing, and reviewing the Konzert SBx-5.1S 5.1 Surround Soundbar - the budget-friendly competition to the JBL Bar 5.1. Yeah, it's the underdog in the soundbar game, but can it compete when it comes to audio prowess, durability, looks, user satisfaction, immersive experience, and, of course, price? Well, buckle up because we're about to find out!
Sure, there are a bunch of videos on KZread talking about the Konzert SBx-5.1S, but this one is going the extra mile with a deep dive into testing, a hands-on demo, and a thorough review. I went all out, connecting the system through the SPDIF digital optical output of my Xiaomi Mi TV to unleash that native 5.1 surround sound magic. Cross your fingers, because we're hoping it supports the big guns: DTS X, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, and DTS. And, of course, we're cranking up the excitement by throwing in some high-quality demo videos from my stash of DTS and Dolby sampler collection. I might not be a home theater pro, so take my words with a grain of salt. Let's ditch the whole "he said, she said" scene. Instead, here's my quick take on the product:
PROS:
- Easy to setup
- Affordable
- Detailed mid-high frequencies
- HDM ARC and SPDIF optical digital inputs
- Very loud
- Wall mountable
CONS:
- Unresponsive remote control
- No total channel isolation
- Cheap crossover that controls channel isolation
- Weak 8 inch subwoofer. Clips easily
- Reverberation on built-in equalizer settings
- Cheap plastic speaker enclosure specially the subwoofer

Sounded great over my Klipsch Pro Media Heritage speakers. Was that the camera mic or did you set up a better mic for recording? Surprised at the CONs since it looked and sounded good to me. Enjoyed the video and appreciated the PROs/CONs.

Hello Mark how you doin brother. Thanks for the feedback. The mic used is just the built in one in an Android phone used in shooting the video. Really nothing special here.
Will there be an L Port Cabin video for the For-x XW-2415D4 model ?

since you build big and awsome subwoofers and speakers how does the sound compare? does it get loud and low? i also have a sony ht rt3 5.1 surround soundbar as well and i dont really like how it sounds do you think this konzert can beat it? (sony says its "600W PEAK" but the power consumption is only 85w LOL)

Hello WBH, I was really wanting a JBL Bar 5.1 for my small room TV setup but the thing is too darn expensive! 😜 So I just bought this locally marketed product. The brand is popular locally for its budget friendly home and professional audio products. Actually my very fist HT subwoofer was of the same brand. Sound quality is just enough for daily music listening, news and movie watching. Just lacking the ultra quality details that can be heard from audiophile and cinephile products.

@@chrclmnky do you think this could beat the sony ht rt3? I just feel like this sony HT lack's power and im looking for more there's actually a time i was able to make the sub smell like burnt coil on it's factory amplifier. I guess im just too used to 10 inch subs. Haha

Hi guys! I still use my Konzert SB2x4. It has 2 speakers both sides, left and right (total 4 speakers). It still sounds greats and could really produces Dolby Atmos sound. I have checked this 5.1 Konzert soundbar in one of kiosk and the regular 2.1 Konzert which I owned is better than that. On the other hand, Sony could not really produce good sounds just like Samsung soundbars. I am very disappointed with that. I am only talking about soundbars here for Samsung and Sony. I think what makes difference to the sound production is the type of speaker shape they are built inside them. Sony and Samsung use oval shape speakers while Konzert uses circle speakers. I think those are the factors. On the other hand, Konzert 2.1 (composes of 4 speakers) sounds better than Konzert 5.1 (composes of 5 speakers), Sony soundbars, and Samsung soundbars. Please respect my comment and opinion. I am truly an audiophile person. In addition, I am planning to buy the bigger Konzert brother which is the SB 3X4, or the one of their new model 5.1 soundbar which is not officially marketed and available in store.

Question Sir. Sorry not a sound expert. Ask ko lang po i mag play ng movie from netflix with 5.1 or Atmos Audio option. Will the surround sound speaker work? Ty po

Surround sound works but no total isolation, as per my reviews.
As always, an excellent video! One question, in Tinkercad, how do you add the shape of a speaker? You create?

Thanks Murillo. On Tinkercad: yes I add the speaker as object. There are many free 3D objects on the internet. You can search them as .obj or .svg

No I didn't create them. I just downloaded them from other 3D sites. You can search for anything like I mentioned in the previous comment.

yes just enough for daily use listening to music, watching movies, news and tv shows. Yes adjustable highs and lows.
Planning to replace it with other soundbar?

Pano po pala ma kapag Dolby Atmos dito sa Pinas? 😂 Ang sobrang high-end naman kasi yun mga piyesa sa america.. Baka may mga tips ka sir pano ma achieve ang Dolby Atmos diy sa Pinas.. salamat po sa agaran pag sagot. ❤

Marami naman po available na mga av receiver at mga speakers na may Dolby Atmos, DTS, etc. capabilities like Denon, Onkyo and Marantz. Nabibili sa mga online martketplaces and high end audio stores like The Listening Room Philippines.
Hi question lang po. Nakita ko po kasi upon turning on the subwoofer naka BT mode siya, after setting up the input mode to HDMI arc or optical mode babalik ba or dedefault back siya sa BT mode upon turning it off and back on?

Hello evening po. Input mode will be the same as the last mode used when turned off and on.

Also volume and all settings will be saved even when unplugged.

@@christianmacaraeg mga 3 meters lang po. Dinugtungan ko nalang pinutol ko before the connector then dun ako nag dugtong.
