@@unknownweirdo077 There's truth in this. It does trouble me greatly. I really like him as a public intellectual for his takes on a lot of Western and anti-Western stuff. His call-out of actual anti-Semitism post Oct 7th, and his coverage of what Israelis suffered in the attack was good, but there's this weird, gaping hole of acknowledgement about what is happening to Gazans as a result, and it deeply troubles me.

If you have to cancel or silence someone it means that you are afraid that their argument is stronger than yours.

I can't agree with you about Murray's ego. I just think he's a hardworking war correspondent - very similar to Christopher Hitchens - who I think has a photographic memory and does meticulous research. He has a great knowledge of history, just like Hitchens had. I wonder whether you have read his books and seen his debates in full? He speaks to truth - a very rare gift in today's society. The fact that not everyone agrees with him is fine, however if the reason for that is down to a soundbite or a biased journalist who is jealous of him, then that's just not sensible good reasoning and research.

The comments don't get deleted due to "wrong think" they get deleted to reinforce the addiction to social media by introducing "uncertainty". A study conducted on rats addicted to cocaine showed that if an "uncertainty" was introduced as to whether or not they would get their "fix" this caused the addiction to deepen. What happens when a post of yours vanishes for no reason? Do you try harder to get your next post seen? Addiction reinforcement.
