@Bromar O what b tier has kome won in Japan? You know Nicko has also gotten top 8 at an A tier like kome granted kome did place higher at an A tier. Also Nicko has gotten top 10 pgr wins and many other pgr wins such as dabuz, void, rivers etc. They're very close in skill. My main point is that while Kome may be better it is not by much at all.

いおら terry’s jab combo into light power dunk is actually safe on shield that move has little lag than u think but I do agree that it was 100% kome’s fault that he missed a punish when he parried he prob thought power dunk hav more lag than that

Like on paper he’s busted cause he can kill every top tier at 120+ with jab jab ex rising tackle but his match up spread is garbage. Same as Ken and Ryu. I’m gonna main Terry but swords, projectiles, and any character that likes to be in the air just bodies him. He is really just better little Mac

Burn Knuckle can call out swordies that jump alot and can kill, power geyser is also viable but if they know how to DI don't expect them to go anywhere so soon and Heavy Power Dunk can also put a stop to their aerial game. It's mostly mind games with Terry, so you have to try and condition them.

Fun fact: Riddles (the guy who’s playing Terry) is actually known as the best Terry player in the whole world. So you kinda expect him to be really good

I saw a guy post a "everyone's worst match up" video where he used match up charts from different smash pros and some other source I can't recall. Terry's worst match up was vs shulk lmao. Because of the long range and shield monado invalidating any kill confirm that start with down tilt or jab. Which is every single one almost. The fact that riddles still gets them regularly just goes to show (1) Riddles is bat shit insane good (2) Terry has such an easy time getting kill confirms started the 18 sec cooldown on shield monado is merely delaying the inevitable

That's the point of shield art in high level matches, it ruins combos by making shulk heavier and take less damage and knockback But it can be counter played if you know the match up

@@elturtle4739 Breaking out of combos for free is broken. You can't punish Shulk effectively for breaking out of your combo unless you have a good grab game. Furthermore Shulk is at the advantage of this little guessing game since he can decide when to break. It's very little risk and high reward for Shulk.

@@RangoTheMercenary i main terry and most characters can't challenge rising taco with optimal magnet hand recovery + intangibility. his burst options are some of the scariest in the game. it looks bad here because he's fighting shulk, his worst mu, but he does really well against most of the cast

@@RangoTheMercenary shulk shuts him down completely when played optimally. definitely a -2 and his most atrocious mu. belmont is even because power wave cancels out his side b, then he goes for f/bair and side tilt and at optimal spacing because belmont doesn't want to be close i can burn knuckle. inkling isn't so bad because i can counter his low profile dash with power wave and inkling has a hard time killing. -1, i'd say. everything else is probably bad

Canonically he can freeze time as he has a vision of an upcoming attack, and prepare a response to it. There's an in-game tip mentioning that the Monado Arts can be used during hitstun, so it's very much an intentional feature. Kome's reflexes in this game are PHENOMENAL to get Shield Art out as quickly as he's doing. It's incredible to watch.

The same reason why Terry, Ryu and Ken can cancel a jab into a kill move, a luxury that no other characters have because this aint a traditional fighting game, yet here they are.

Riddles or Terry players in general need to stop using jab-jab-power dive literally every time they get close. In this matchup it clearly was one of the worst options to pull out but Riddles kept going for it. Really need to lab against Shield Monado.

But to be fair it's an excellent go-to combo to deal high amounts of damage and could be used for kills when MUs are too bad or use other conventional methods to finish them off.

I don't think it was a result of abusing a bread and butter combo. I think Riddles just didn't adapt to his opponent cuz like you said, he kept using jab jab power dunk, but he also kept getting edge guarded cuz he always got off ledge at the same time using normal getup.

Jab into power dunk is a scrubby Terry option for neutral, it's good to busf out a kill, but for neutral it leaves a lot to be desired

Power dunk is just the best option to do out of jab. All of Terry’s other cancelable specials out of jab are either more unsafe like krackshoot or just don’t connect like burning knuckle. Rising tackle is only good on hit at higher percents. Using jab jab powerdunk on shield is a lot safer because it can shield poke and it’s harder to interrupt then all of Terry’s other specials, although parrying completely shuts it down and removes any chance for a shield poke.

There were many instances where Riddles mixed it up with Charged Rising Tackle. It does seem, however, that jab2-power wave and jab1-3 are underused. As it stands rn tho, this is the best I've seen Terry been used.
