कौन कहता है मुहब्बत की ज़ुबाँ होती है ये हक़ीक़त तो निगाहों से बयाँ होती है वो न आये तो सताती है ख़लिश सी दिल को वो जो आये तो ख़लिश और जवाँ होती है (ख़लिश = चुभन, वेदना) रूह को शाद करे, दिल को जो पुरनूर करे हर नज़ारे में ये तनवीर कहाँ होती है (शाद = प्रसन्न), (पुरनूर = प्रकाशमान, ज्योतिर्मय), (तनवीर = रौशनी, प्रकाश) ज़ब्त-ए-सैलाब-ए-मुहब्बत को कहाँ तक रोकें दिल में जो बात हो आँखों से अयाँ होती है (ज़ब्त-ए-सैलाब-ए-मुहब्बत = मुहब्बत की बाढ़ की सहनशीलता), (अयाँ = साफ़ दिखाई पड़ने वाला, स्पष्ट, ज़ाहिर) ज़िन्दग़ी एक सुलगती-सी चिता है 'साहिर' शोला बनती है न ये बुझ के धुआँ होती है -साहिर होशियारपुरी

Chitraji was always overshadowed by the legendary Jagjitji. But one has to take note that she was as good as any out there.. But she sacrificed her fame snd stardom by being in Jagjitji's Shadow's... But what level of Skills.... May Jagjitji always be in peace and please the gods with his majestic voice in heaven

chitra ji was in depression after the death of their son even jagjit ji was effected and his ghazals were mostly sad one though he continued singing but chitra ji gave up completely this was said by late jagjit Singh ji in a TV interview in doordarshan year back

मेरी उम्र से बड़ा मौका है यह जिसको में श्री जगजीत साहेब के जाने के बाद देख और सुन रहा हूँ वाकई में बेमिसाल

वो कौन सी सुहानी घड़ी होगी के हमें ऐसा अभूतपुर्व गायक युगल प्राप्त हुआ, किंतु हर घड़ी सुहानी नही होती. पहली बार 1980 मे इस गज़ल की केसेट सुनी थी और आज 2019 में फिर से यु-टयुब पर सुनते हुए एहसास हो रहा है की सचमुच जींदगी एक सुलगती सी चिता है।

@@amit12567 मित्र, अगर औसतन जिंदगी ७० वर्ष की समझे तो आपके पास कम से कम ३५ साल तो हैं। तुम्हारी जितनी उम्र में मै भी हारा हुआ महसूस करता था। मैंने सोचने का तरीका बदला। बीते हुए २५ सालो में बहुत कुछ हुआ लेकिन उसमें कुछ अच्छा भी था। आने वाले समय में क्या अच्छा होगा वह मालूम करने के लिए मैं तो सामना करूंगा। सामना... कितना अच्छा शब्द हैं? रौतल गाने सुनना और गाना बंध किए, जो कभी मेरे फेवरिट हुवा करते थे। प्यार के, प्रेरणा देने वाले गाने सुनता था और सुनता हूं। रुक जाना नहीं तू कहीं हार के, कांटो पे चल के मिलेंगे साये बहार के। आज सही माने में में बहार के साये में जी रहा हूं। परिवार में, समाज में, स्वास्थ्य से सुखी हु। देखो फेसबुक पर ये कॉमेंट लिख रहा हु। में एक जोली, हस्ता, हंसाने वाला दादा/नाना हुं। तुम भी कभी दादा/नाना बनोगे।

बहुत शुक्रिया इस ख़ूबसरत सौग़ात के लिए । जगजीत साहब को हमेशा हम अपने दिल में ज़िंदा रखे हुए हैं ।

Fabulous early days---only tabla and harmonium in play unlike later versions with violin, guitar, santoor etc. They could do magic with just tabla and harmonium. Love this unplugged version.
