I have had a KK 42” for almost 3 years now. It’s amazing and is worth every penny. I’m not a gadget guy either, they are useless on the KK, I tried them and tossed them in the bin.

If you reach in and sandwich the air vent and ash deflect that will seal better. Love my 2 Komodo Kamados

You can put your deflectors on the second grate. The one right about the fire box and it will turn your Komodo in to a convention over.

Congrats on the Serios 42. I've seen Steve Raichlen using one of these. I checked out Hectors, and Rum & Cook. Baby Back Maniac had one in his first video and sold it & never really said why. I follow these I like them. I see these were hit by inflation. Will be following your experience on this. I think I've watched almost all videos on the komodo, there is not a whole lot of them. Did you get any coconut shell or coffee wood. How's the Goldwing, Thoughts on the Workhorse 1975.

Hello, John, and thank you! You're right, they have gone up. I think that they had remained at the same price for a long while so they were probably overdue for an increase and, of course, shipping issues have not helped. No exotic (expensive) charcoals yet and the GW is still waiting to get dusted off for the riding season. I hope you're getting some riding in. I'm afraid I don't know much about the Workhorse as they were not around when I was in the market for offsets. Thanks again and have a dandy day!
