Komatsu 1250 Not Bulking Dirt *Full HD*
Someone in a nice shiny Komatsu 1250 loading trucks like a girl.
At 4:04 you see the obligatory Komatsu mechanic reassuring the 1250 that it's ok so it doesn't have to have a panic attack and stop working =D

i see its a lot of experts watching and comenting on this vid. i dont know how many hours this operator has on this machine. but it seems to me that he is a bit unexperienced. first time i operated a cat 365 i eas so amazes over how slow it was, and how different it handeled compared to the cat 324 wich i got around 1000 hrs in. really likes your vids anyway :) keep em coming..
@Portnob Watch the angle between the boom and stick. Should have a full bucket by the time the stick gets to 90*, this is why he is having trouble digging and not getting full scoops. Trucks are stopping too far ahead and too close so he isn't using his stick to dump and is out of bucket curl. Also sits and rakes around half a yard of dirt instead of being ready for the next truck. Last but not least turning all the way around to track backwards, meanwhile an empty truck is sitting there...
@UAL012 Not sure if you can hear it but under 150ft away to the left there is a dozer with GPS trimming a slope.
180 degree loading is so slow and inefficient. 45 to 90 degrees max, great 1250 mind !
@mxphil4 It's a 10yd rock bucket, you can see how the teeth make a V shape so they are not flat. You dont grade with this bucket you dig, but this guy is scratching around trying to clean up. You can hear the tracks of his cleanup dozer just off screen, so why waste time with a truck sitting empty beside the hoe? Also why dig and swing 180*? Just back up and the same dirt that was at 180* is now 30* off your idler...
This is by far my favorite excavator of all time!
Really a great toy... you're so luky to work with these machines... ;)!!!
There's always an empty pocket on the right side and front of his bucket, he is digging too close to the machine on the first truck and spinning too far, and is playing around with the dirt instead of loading the second truck.
@3Mudbone1 I apologize I assumed long shore was fishing but after re-reading its more container handling? Same deal applies though if you need 20 containers an hour to make money and your crane guy is playing around and only getting 12...
Hehe, I know this outfit, did a season with them the year they bought this beast. This monster plus an 850, 320, couple of 27s and a fleet Cat, Komatsu and Terex trucks at a dam near Vulcan. That was a fun project, and I can tell ya the operator we had at that time was a lot quicker than this guy.
He is curling teh bucket too soon which is why he's having trouble pullin the stick through the dirt, but he's loading 60-70 ton trucks in under a minute in spite of sitting on a pile that forces him to dirt 180 degrees around from the trucks. Every operator and situation is different that is for sure. I do have to agree though, turnin all the way around to backtrack, MAYBE that pile really is narrow.
👍👍 mantap Bosque Excavator Komatsu PC 1250❤️❤️
If this guy wanted it graded out so smooth, he should have requested a dozer to come over and clean up where he's working.
why rush if you dont need to? thats a huge machine doing a silly task how you want it loaded?
@modernhumble Normally the receiver uses a local auction house. For example this company's assets will be sold through Calgary Public Auction (CPA) June 28th and 29th.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX I think the 1250 is the redeemer for the Komatsu line of hoes, a fairly impressive machine.
Fantastic machine!!!!!!! perfect!!!!
Yeah Alex was telling me these guys are going belly up. I don't know how that happens in Alberta. lol
@farlinj We are the ones who unload all of the Caterpillar machines that you guys use which were manufactured in Asia and shipped over the Pacific Ocean to the west coast.
@vantagetes awe we get paid by the hour... don't be hating LOL
@jetspaul Its more the moition in the ocean than the size of the machine is what I think he is trying to get across!!
That would be a cool episode of opperation repo
@kurlis I do know someone, not at the liberty to be able to disclose the video however. 390D is pretty much a 385 with a bit more power. It would be smaller then a 1250.
you should of just walked over and told the operator to step out and take a smoke for a few trucks loads. lol
it went back to sms in fort mac and yes it was a repo job!! I know i hauled the counterweight there...rite before christmas
No water needed, water just means that the mud would stick in the bucket and take up extra space and also take up the trucls load limit.
@3Mudbone1 People who take their sweet time with large expensive equipment end up getting their nice and shiny 1250 repo'd because they can't make payments.
@TurboGSR96 Yeah the big stuff is awesome. It's hard to describe until you work around and run it.
@JimBruce42 Yeah but I'm close to his load time with a 385 (much smaller machine). That machine has enough reach that he could back up and just swing 30* off the idler to reach the sides. Plus that pile is the last strip of a giant hill they are cutting so he's got enough room to use his mirrors when backing up. Ah well soon enough Sms is going to be coming to take that machine back from them.
@godackgudalach1 Watch his stick cylinder, it never comes close to running out of travel but he always ends up diggin inside 90* with his stick. That means he shoud have moved back. Ok the slope doesn't make the bench ideal but if he's already having to swing a little bit further then why on earth have the trucks pull so far ahead? That's just making the swing time even longer. Probably does need more seat time, hopefully someone can work one his production he seems alright on the controls.
@redheadedduckhunter 1250 is a little smaller then a 5110.
@vantagetes No problem. People also misunderstand my former career as a U.S. merchant marine engineer. Your videos are informative and interesting. Have a nice weekend.
People who are in too big of a hurry all of the time end up dead at times.
@farlinj Do the best you can with the equipment and operators you have. If the operator is willing to learn you can train them to do it how you need it done. If not then you either put up with it or replace them. I'm a fan of the second option but at the same time you have to be sure you have a replacement first!
@vantagetes wouldn't disagree with that, just fannin the flames a little. Who's Sms?
@evadvalcourt Caliber Systems. I would like to point out that I was correct in my prediction and 6 month after this video was posted they were in receivership.
great looking machine never had the chance to run anything near that size hoping too in the future though, is there much call for such sized machines in alberta or newly qualified operators. around where i live that would be a mining size machine
Nice vid. Whats your take on the Komatsu 1250 then? Good, OK, junk??
Is this a highway project they are working on? Thanks for the great post.
@FUCKINROCKIT I doubt it looking at the way he has the trucks pulling in. If he was still loading quickly but taking the time to make it nice and pretty then I'd agree but then again you don't grade with a rock bucket (the bucket floor and teeth are laid out in a V so that you have more penetration).
@Cat314DLCR Apparently they didn't pay enough as it got reposessed.
@3Mudbone1 ...what's fishing have anything to do with average cycle times of a machine? Jobs are bid based on a machine being able to move X amount of dirt in a given time. If all of a sudden the sub standard operator would rather play with the pile of dirt rather then putting it in a truck then the job loses money and in turn the company goes under, like this one is. There's nothing unsafe about him loading the truck in the proper efficient manner, so why isn't he?
he definitley wasnt on price work!!
HD is sweet
can you please tell me what the white truck at the very end was? ive seen a white 797 (maybe 793) and im jsut curious. Matt
@kanadianBrakn Sure was, sitting on the side of Deerfoot by Airport Trail.
Hi vantagetes, big ole' machine. I would want to be up-wind for sure! Take care. mrbluenun
After watching your video "loading like a boss", I can see what you mean.
Sorry to tell you bud, but at 4:04 that's isn't a SMS truck. Almost pulled a fast one eh?
@SALPU86 because the dealer support here is terrible. Downtime is the biggest cost so if you lose a machine for a week+ waiting for parts its not worth it.
@vantagetes Shit I went about 10yrs ago, and we went with our local Komatsu Rep, they had a D375 simulator that you had to run through an obstacle course and I ended up with the fastest time at the convention, I got a bunch of neat stuff out of that deal.
Any chance of seeing you driving this? Lovely machine, pity he is not using its full potential
@poskyflyer Just wait till you find the Bucyrus 495 video, its something like 1400tons.
ok your saying that this 1250 is a little smaller than a 5110 but where does the 390D L fits in all of this and!! do you know somewhere or someone that has one that you could do a walk around
@vantagetes I mean we got 345's and there are bigger machines scattered around, there is a company near me that has a 5110B but thats the biggest bitch I have ever been around. I went to the ConExpo a few yrs back and was amazed at the stuff I saw, made me want to move out west.
@CowboyH911 You are correct.
Where do you start if you watch this vid and actually know how to run a cut with trucks and a mass EX. So To comment on the one and only correct thing in this vid. Good job truck drivers for doing it in a drive by pattern. Everything else here is wrong except the size of the machine.
Good
@TurboGSR96 You'll have to keep an eye on this channel then, Alex and I are hitting up ConEx this year and will be putting up youtube episodes.
@Makemyday0126 Not really. I think the 1250 a bit of an exception, they are a decent machine. Really like their rock trucks however!
COOL THAT BUCKET LOOK A LITTEL TO BIG
Actually they were. They also went bankrupt a few months later, as I predicted.
So we've established Mudbone was piloting the 1250?
@vantagetes I work as a west coast longshoreman and the employer keeps trying to speed up the work which is down right dangerous. Statistically the only career more dangerous is a coal miner. When container volume is up some guys work enough shifts to gross a quarter million per year, but they have to work almost two shifts per day for a whole year. I actually make more than most of the 14,000 west coat longshoremen because I am in a high skill catagory. (Refrigerated container technician).
@vantagetes Fishing?!? Who said anything about fishing?
3 passes? Are those Cat trucks 773's? That's a good sized bucket on the 1250.
@Deere2154D

last truck says 775E
@420freeride Uh you can clearly see the teeth are setup in a V. That's a rock setup. You don't -have- to dig rock with buckets like that but its sure as fuck not made for cleaning up. We aren't questioning the other operators just saying that this guy shouldn't be wasting the companies money running the 1250. As for money there's no mechanical service or parts dept that will deal with you unless you bring cash, there's a reason for that. And no I don't have a vw. 2500 ram, TJ and a GSX-R 750.
what is the equivalent Cat excavator?
If you went this sloe on our PC800's loading limestone we would never get to the crusher in time to keep it running
@3Mudbone1 we all end up dead in the end
Hey vantagetes or whatever he is doing that because he moves to far it will be out of reach and see the slope he is right next to... I run a Hitachi 1800 with a 992 bucket and I alot of digging every day man but that Guy could use some more time... that's all it takes
I belive that Liebherr r984c is better than the komatsu. I don't understand why don't use this machine in USA or Canada. In Spain, Epsa, the biggest european excavating contractor has got more than 20 984.
Well... he is kinda slow, and he should have filled his bucket as close as possible to the trucks instead of doing those 180 degree turns. He should also be in the right possision when the next truck rolls up.
Two scoops = side dump loaded!
@mxphil4 That's the main one, plus a few other things.
Was this near the Deerfoot?
shaping a bank while keeping up with a line of trucks in never easy, i see alot of meat heads in here that might be operators complaining about production and what not, I am an experienced operator and I do estimating.... and in this scenario the operator is clearly rough grading, and any estimator worth a shit knows these activities take more time and add more money for the increased labor/equipment, production is always looked at with the machine size (cy) haul dist and truck size/#
@xxHarveyMoonxx For the $7,000 or so I have in this camera setup I should hope its amazing! Haha glad you agree =)
also being slow is not always a bad thing.
@vantagetes Cause it's going as fast at the guy running it haha!
Thats execellent digging. Companies go bankcrupt because the owner can steal the cash and leave the workers with the shit.
essa maquina e muito boa entra la no meu canal, que tem o video da Pc sendo retirada da Obra
@Icerthebluelion Since when is not being able to move enough dirt to pay for your operating costs a GOOD thing? This company went bankrupt less than 6 months after I posted this.
Nailed it. This guy is really to far gone to save. He needs to go back to residential and cleaning yards.
I DIDNT MEAN SPRAY IT JUST TO KEEP DUST DOWN BRO REAL DUSTY
@vantagetes why
How many cubic metre is this bucket ?
@TurboGSR96 Truck drivers have nothing to do with it, as the hoe operator you should be controlling how they pull in to suit your loading style/conditions. There's also a huge difference between leaving it close and doing absolutely nothing productive. I will agree I have seen much worse though! Just not in a 1250...
Scoop is really
In between every truck he should be bailing the material that involves more than a 1/4 turn.......I learned that when I was 7
@soin6967
7 жыл бұрын
Geoff Mackay he sure had lots of time in between trucks eh, I'm not saying thats not what u do but he clearly didn't have time except after one truck there chief.
@janX9
6 жыл бұрын
Soin 696 he would have had time if he was efficient. 180 degree turns? 45-90 Max. Then you the time you save, you grab everything else between trucks and don't play with the material like this guy did. That second truck waited almost a minute before he started getting loaded. 1 MINUTE MAN! If you're bulking in a big project like this, there is ZERO time to waste, make every move count. That's a big machine with big trucks (probably 777's?). Expensive jobs like this go bankrupt if there isn't a pro in the operators seat. This job shut down soon after. BANKRUPT!
@bert26a Yup.
why does he scoop so slow?
Always full buckets, 3x bucket each truck = full loaded trucks. Not like a girl at all.
@janX9
6 жыл бұрын
HazynatOr Alex 180 degree turns? 3 trucks in 4:41 minutes? Second truck waited almost 1 MINUTE for 1 scoop!? You don't see a problem here? *No Production!*
@vantagetes ya you said it
@vantagetes yeah, i'm evil like that. I'd say maybe the guys just new, but I've seen guys with 30+ years in the seat dig that way too. Some guys just aren't awesome, lol.
Over 4:41 to load three trucks because he swings too far and plays with his dirt. A PC8000 will get three passes in less than 1:20 and its a much slower machine, this guy is terrible.

i think he may have watched your videos
What do you mean he's loading like a girl? The buckets always full.
Such tiny sticks
@bert26a You load trucks like this =D
@vantagetes Some people think cows are a religous icon. I love me some steak though.
