Highly, highly recommend Garmin Varia. When riding with a buddy I've even connected my radar to his head unit and we were both getting notifications.

I ride a Trek Domane SL 7, roads and the Broadwalk along the beach in Hollywood FL, and would not get on any bike without my Varia communicating with my Garmin 830 headset AND a Spintech mirror, left side. Combined/coordinated seamlessly with the old over-the-shoulder look, a great safety feature. The Varia is expensive but a solid investment that works great with no techy glitches, providing constant eyes and non-intrusive audio alerts from about 140 yards out as to what's coming up from behind. The additional time and space to react if necessary is pretty important. Not to mention, the sooner people see you the better and we're all conditioned to perk up and pay attention when we see a flashing red light. The positive difference in how drivers respond when you're riding with a Varia is quite noticeable.

doesnt the garmin come w different size o rings, to accommodate smaller seatposts

I got the optional Garmin mount, that has a standard allen screw to secure itself on the seatpost. I installed it on my MTB and works great. On my road bike I have the standard mount with the o-rings, but I use two of them, almost no problem at all to move around.

Exactly the same. Double O-rings. The KOM mount looks like a good product, but a bit hefty

The varia radar is an essential piece of safety equipment for anyone who rides on the road. I would argue it is essential as a helmet. It is pricey, but once you’ve used it you will refuse to ride without it. Any plans to review the new version with the built in camera?

Im deciding between KOM cycling mount or TUSITA mount..

BOA.. why thought? there are static mounting options for varia that use screw, like the one from SPORTARC. Those are much smaller also.

Anyone else had one of the O rings to break ? Not a common thing, but an easy way to lose a $200 device. The KOM mount is genius. I will have one purchased within the next 10 mins.

I’m Varia user for 3 years, never faced problems with the oring mount. But even if it detached you will see it on your device as radar will lose connectivity. Regards!

I got a mount off Amazon that uses a Allen screw to secure around seat post. Works really well and even though it is designed more for a round seatpost…if fits my triangular seatpost (Carbondale ). Btw the KOM under saddle bag that uses the boa system is awesome….

Honestly, it’s much lighter than it looks. I would say the weight difference is not enough to really worry about.

That's a bit pricey for a mount, though it does seem fairly robust

Amazing how the evryday cyslist life has changed! Now, we are almost forced to buy all these s...to make drivers and pedestrians awared of our presence! Text and driving, DUI, Haters, too many people everywhere, stoners are responsable for this unfortunate change!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn’t seem that well designed for round seatposts. Big negative.
