absolutely! Spot on, and there are indeed a lot of recent bands inspired by Classic Afrobeat/Highlife producing amazing stuff nowadays, such as Newen Afrobeat, Afro Social Club, Ojibo Afrobeat, Albinoid Afrobeat Orchestra, etc. The future of excellent music is no doubt in good hands. That transition between Dide O and Age of Ascent is masterful. I just want to be wrapped up in it. I can't believe the pandemic ruined my chance to catch you all in Los Angeles two or three years ago. Nevertheless, I am grateful ya'll are still creating!

.. the best of many worlds to create one unique colourful universe... ambient, afro, funk, jazz , rock ,dance, soul ,ethnic ...intricate poly rhythms and harmonies..but not elitist ,boring, obscure flashy ....hands down ..a major achievement in modern music..greetings to all sounds adventurers.. here ..on that comment section

...Trane? I'd go with Fela + Tony Allen on this one. Best thing about this band (besides their obviously stonking music) is they are 'real people'. Totally relatable Londoners.

There was a young man playing guitar on Kokoroko "Colonial Mentality"/Sofar, London who played this WONDERFUL solo. I've not seem him again. I wish he would come back. He looked about sixteen but the solo was so musical it showed a maturity way beyond his years. Where'd he go?
