That 7:32 shot was riddiculous. How on earth was he able to do chopblock on such a speedy ball. Other players wouldn't have been able to block the ball whereas niwa chop blocked it. If you do not believe me watch from 7:45 to 7:47 you will see how fast that ball was. Thug life and an innovative player. Congrats to liang jingkun for defeating a player like this!! It is really difficult to get adapt to the style of koki niwa bcoz he is difficult to predict unless you practice with him daily.

I really enjoy watching Koki play, he is not just about power, like so many, rather, he is an artist, more like Xu Xin. Except his signature is the chop block, just spectacular. But, unfortunately, like XX, this is also probably his downfall, in that he enjoys performing and putting on a spectacular show, which may not always get him the win, but it sure is amazing to watch!

rmn15251 additional information. "I'm thinking about the dampness of the venue," Niwa explained about the rubber flip during the game. At the venue this time, cooling doesn't work and moisture fills up. The soft black side reduced the momentum of the ball, and the hard red side used the opposite as well. The way to identify rubber is v>15 for white sponge and tenacity for red sponge. In recent years, Niwa has sometimes been v>15 on both sides, and sometimes v>15 on one side, so I could only predict myself at this tournament.

If you're good enough to take the Chinese to 7 games, by then the effort of getting there would result in the Chinese dominating you in the 7th game - they're very fit and can deal with sustained pressure better than most.

Hello, He plays with : blade => VICTAS Koki Niwa (before he also played with TSP Swat power) FH rubber => VICTAS V>15 extra max BH rubber => VICTAS V>15 extra max VICTAS Koki Niwa : This entails a 5+4 ply construction, in which the core wood ply is surrounded by an aramid carbon layer that “develops great speed while maintaining good feel that is just perfect for fast mid-distance topspin rallies with optimized stability in extreme situations.” A thin and elastic fleece carbon layer is placed between the outer and middle wood plies. Stiff "off" blade. VICTAS V>15 extra => Tensor, 47-48° (european), fast but very linear, spin insensitive (great ability on short game, block, counter topspin), a little tricky on service and first topsin.

@@nathvacher4980 Max thickness both side. During the wttc 2019 he changes again his blade for a VICTAS Koki Niwa wood (which is a clone of TSP Swat power)

I have bought both koki niwa wood and tsp swat power, swat power more feeling and speed, niwa wood more power and speed and more effect on the ball. He is my idol! 😂😂

Koki niwa is such an interesting hybrid of a wizard with his backhand and his blocks at the one hand, and a super-aggressive player, whose only weapon is destroying the opponent's game. If the rallies are short and the opponent does not come into the game, he has good chance. Otherwise, Niwa looses. I like him because he is no player who plays like almost everyone.
