Kojak Speaks Greek | Kojak
Ойын-сауық
Best of Kojak! When lawyer David Hecht's son Simon (Tommy Oakes) shows up at the station to report that his father has been missing overnight, Kojak takes an interest in the case, even though it doesn't fit the normal pattern for a missing person.
From Season 1 Episode 22 'The Only Way Out' - A boy asks Kojak to find his father who's gone missing. What they don't know is that he is being held captive.

I read that Telly Savales was a very good father and was very close to his family. Right there is the sign of a very good person.

This episode is gonna FLOOR me hearing him speak Greek!! 💘 🇬🇷 😍
That little boy, David, is ADORABLE 🥰, such a good actor, love him !!!!!!. Telly Savalas…………OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!
funny thing is, Greek men quite often have this growly, low voice, just like the Lieutenant when he speaks in Greek.
Kojak was "The Consummate Gentleman"!! Always kissed the hands of practically every woman he encountered!! Can't do that now with this pandemic!! He was TOTAL CLASS!!

Kojak was great with using "Thank you".

Haha.. I thought you meant "thank you" in Greek and had to rewind.. I'm thinking "He says δεν ξέρουμε, not 'χαριστούμε", before figuring out what you meant. Kojak was classy. Surprisingly good acting.
"That's 'Gesundheit' in strange language" - epic!!! :-D Do we know who she is?

There's other ways to find out, other than Kojak.. but yeah I got curious too, and wanted to see if he ever had lines in Greek on the show. I saw an interview with Telly Savalas where he said he wasn't allowed to speak English at home when he was a kid, so it's not surprising that he's pretty good.
@2:12THATS ARISTOPHANES AND ARISTOTLE IN ONE, IN JUST 5 WORDS. Hahahahahahahahaha. Oh, may your memory be eternal Aristotele (Αριστοτελη) Telly Savalas.
Ironically, Greek was Telly's primary language until he emigrated to the United States. He learned English later on.

Kojak, such a great mind. He had to ask David if his dad worked in the house ... Hey Kojak, what's that desk and office chair for? The one over on your right. Couldn't deduce the desk and chair didn't belong to the kid or the housekeeper? Hahahaha.

Any good detective is going to be asking a lot of questions to which they already know the answer. Establishing a rapport, seeing how people respond, or finding out what they'll lie about - all good reasons to ask someone something you already know.

@@azathoth3700 - Yeah, any good, well written detective show would do that. Although Savalas had a fun persona, the show itself was predictable, slop.
