Thanks body for the long walk. I guess you almost got your self into a bit of a pickle there. I would have loved to see you turned right up at the clock tower in Mae Haad, you just missed a bit more of bars and restaurants. And as others are pointing out, I guess you where there in June around a full moon party - so one of the most quit times of the year. And btw - Koh Tao don't really have many motorbike taxies and the pickup taxies are pretty expensive. And during the night not many would be accessible in Mae Haad as they would all be in the Sairee Area where all the business would be. Thanks again from a long time resident of Koh Tao.

That's not a bird, hahahaha. In the Philippines, they call that a Tuko, because is sounds like it's saying Tuko. It's a big iguana like lizard.

thanks for showing this. I am consedering going there as a solo female traveller and was wondering if it is ok to walk alone on the island at night because the island does have a negative nickname. I helped me to make my decision and I am going!! 🙂

You will be okay. Just take extra precaution after 10pm but as you can see by my video I was walking after 10pm in dark areas. But yes certainly go. Most people with a problem end up getting drunk and carried away. Or rip Someone off badly and someone pays them a revenge. Other than that you should be ok

I didn't really see Karaoke here on Koh Tao! Its a lot of backpackers and they are not big on Karaoke
