The best experience I had with this game was indeed watching the trailers for expansions as I went by, they're so cool!

That slick armor up sequence will always be *CHEFKISS*

Literally saw that gif YEARS before I ever heard of FFXIV. Still one of the most satisfying sequences I’ve seen.

“Things are gonna happen in Ishgard, that’s for sure” Oh you sweet, sweet summer child…

Makes me smile and my heart warm to see people so excited and loving the game and trailers!

1:45 That's *supposed* to be Nidhogg, yeah. Unfortunately, the trailer team used the wrong model for the character, and by the time they noticed, it was too late to fix, so they just ran with it. If you watch closely as you play through the Heavensward MSQ, you'll recognize that model but on a different character. Welcome to Heavensward!

One of the fun things with these trailers is seeing what job the WoL will change to next. It's not always a new job, but whatever job it is has SOMETHING to do with what's going on and I love it. Though I'll note that so far our stand in has been pretty focused on physical / melee jobs. It'll be crazy if he ever does finally don some caster robes.

Still imo one of the nest video game trailers. The hype when this came out was immeasurable. Square knows how to makes amazing trailers to build interest thatsfor sure.

The relief of knowing FFXIV survived it's transition into ARR... And the excitement of what the future could hold. And we are still going strong!

bruh, the goosebumps I felt watching this for the first time when the lyrics said "DYS AN SOHM IN!!!"

watching this man gets maximally hype is a hella good way to start my day.

Fun fact in the Trailer when you switch to dragoon the armor you wear was not meant to be show'n because it is mutch later endgame gear but the Trailer team srcued up and they noticed it for them self when they released the Trailer so they couldn't change it 😄

@@BloodyDIMISIS55 true dragoon was my main till Stormblood and then they released the 2 best classes (for me that is 😆) Samurai main since start 😁 and Redmage my main caster class

That intro STILL gives me chills to this day Xd

To be fair, I think it's more so argued from a pure story perspective. Considering HW still had TP, weird cross-class stuff, and its raids nearly killed the raiding scene, it's more so fondly remembered when all of its problems got swept away in later updates leaving only the fantastic story to be enjoyed unimpeded by all the old bullshit.

funny detail that surprisingly most people missed, the nidhog model, used during the part where Estinien is launching spears from the top of the tower, actually has Estinien's model stabbing him in the back of the neck
