Stats don't define Kobe's impact and legacy in the NBA, Kobe should definitely be considered a top 3 player all time based on impact, defense, scoring, winning

I don't know about the other years, but his best play in the 1998 All-Star game was NOT the one they included in this video. That's one of my favorite All-Star games of all-time. I recorded it on a VHS tape, watched it a million times, and I know it like the back of my hand. His best play from that game is when he had the ball on a 2 on 1 fastbreak. Kobe faked the crap out of Mutombo with a fake behind the back pass to Gary Payton, and instead dribbled the ball behind his back to himself and finished with a ridiculous hook shot along the baseline while jumping out of bounds. The fake behind the back pass dribble has been used countless times since then (by players such as Rajon Rondo and Brandon Jennings, etc), but that was the first time anyone's really seen a move like that (since maybe Pete Maravich used to do it back in the day).

its all about flexin the skill gap.......the greats the true true greats flexed.....they didnt just play.....they played soo damn well and had the game down so well that the excess skill and love for the game yielded these flex on them moments....harken back to laker great Elgin Baylor for bringing upon this play style of letting the opponent know you were a god among men. Down to DR.J(favorite was baylor) one of kobes personal favorite players gowing up to magic johnson kobes favorite player of all time....he encompassed so many laker greats into his game as well as hakeem and mj. But man when the real kobe flavor was out on that bbq chicken boy o boy......look back to his behind the back reverse dunk on Vincent Yarbrough in 03......weve seen lebron drj baylor take an outlet to a dunk.......this one just happened to be off a ft make........still IMO this play hands down defines kobes transcendent ability to flex in this game. OR a his All-Star mix.

2000-2010 is the best era of basketball I'll say why, 2000-2010 had the best of both eras from the 90s and what we have now today it had dominate bigs, it had power forwards who could stretch the floor, it had undersized power forwards, it still had handchecking and many other rules to make it difficult to score unlike today where it's impossible to play d, the game was still physical, we had much more 3s than the 90s but we have much more inside game with good bigs unlike today's era, we had a stacked western conference, the only thing I could say bad about 2000-2010 is for a few years the east was just shitty like how lebron basically made it to finals beating no great team what so ever if that cavs team was in the west it would've been a easy first round or second exit for that team also lebrons run wasn't that impressive if anything kobe was a 7 seed going against the suns who were the 2nd seed and he toke the suns to 7 games with Kwame brown and smush parker starting and the suns were a championship contender funny thing is kobe toke the suns to 7 games while suns toke the spurs to 6 games who the spurs swept the cavs

lebrons a better player than kobe the same way fishers a better teammate than kobe......nuff said doesnt mean anything when measuring success and ultimate goal of why you lace them up......not out there to win best prototypical teammate and player award. Plus lebron wouldnt know shit bc hes never worn purple and gold he never know bleed to win.......hes a "teammate" he can defer or etc as he did/does. Hes not the heart that pumps purple and gold on the roster like kobe was.....those plays antics demeanor all sends a message down to the rest of the team as a standard bearer. Lebron bears none of these on court traits.........which is why kyrie left.....wasnt willing to play with that "leadership teammate quality" yet kobe v shaq ultimatum as a laker fan that saw how shaq did vs det....how he treated off season in general etc.....vs kobe and the fate that played out uh yeah we the NBA fans now have a definitive moment in history where one "Leaders" play style demeanor on/off court can cause a "dynasty" to crumble........and now the media/nba is sucking lebrons dick over it too lmfao as if im surprised.......and kyrie is the villain/idiot that didnt want to play with lebron......much like kobe was the etc that didnt apparently want to play with shaq....when in reality he had no problem other than shaqs work ethic and when shaq proved he didnt want to step up kobe said me or him......? is it really that hard to rationalize....IMO kyries scenario is far worse bc hes passing up a potential guaranteed finals appearance bc hes over lebrons shit and trying to shine a light on the huge inclinations that entail having lebron as a teammate and on your roster that the league make hush hush all the preferential treatment the fact that lebron acknowledges his status and plays into his roll as king of the castle etc.......like 1000% worse than any bs the media could stir about kobe in regards to chemistry etc....Plain and simple kobe got the best out f pau/odom/bynum that theyd ever do in their careers........lebron has kyrie....long story short kyrie basically sais you wont get the best out of me bc i dont respect you.......this isnt going to work "us" lmfao......as if its the first time lebrons encountered this if anything his teams won him his rings.......not him as the leader he only does well in a losing effort in order to absolve himself of responsibility for losing and yet when lebron wins he rides the role players lmfao definitive difference between kobe and lebron

I am probably the biggest fan of that 2002 all star game, so I can confidently say that his best play that year was the one handed scoop layup. No debates.

In the first one they showed a generic dunk when his best play was a fake behind-the-back pass into a crazy floater.
