Kobe did it during the most difficult era to score in in NBA history. Look how much traffic there is, the lane is clogged and nothing came easy. Compared to today's NBA which has much less defense and physicality, and crazy spacing. Kobe would average 40 today easily.

Kobe wouldn’t do that specifically because that style of play doesn’t win chips anymore. He said that in an interview when asked about James harden and how much he would’ve averaged. Kobe is set on winning. He scored to win. In today’s game Kobe would be the leader but his back up would have to pull just about the same amount of weight as he is. So Kobe would still drop 25-32 a game with ease but more of his teammates would have to drop 10 a game. Same for Jordan. Because them specifically they took on the offensive load but it was too much for a team back then. Now in today’s game 2-3 players on one team can have 20 points a piece. So even tho someone like Kobe or Jordan did their part, the team didn’t pull the rest of their weight. So individually they’d be great. But they’d have less wins.

Underrated Season. Yes the 2004 NBA Finals were one of the worst moments of all time apart from game 2, but the whole season was packed with great Kobe moments. Especially the game against T-Mac in March 2004 where he started slowly amidst some private issues with his wife before taking over and eventually winning that game or also the game in Portland where he made that game-tying shot, before winning the game with a buzzer beater was phenomenal.

Some of these shots are just so damn difficult, and some of his moves to create separation, I mean... Lebron just cannot, and never could move like this. Being bowlegged doesn't help at all.

The crazy thing about this season was that Kobe was charged with rape and had 2 offseason surgeries. He came into the year completely out of shape and without touching a basketball all offseason. He dealt with injuries all season and was going back and forth to Colorado for court proceedings. This was just him playing off pure talent and instinct. The fact that he was still able to play at the level he was able to was one of the most remarkable things I’ve seen and speaks to how incredible of a talent and competitor he was. You still can’t convince me that if he had been as focused as he normally was they would not have won the title, despite all the drama.

I'm a huge kobe fan but this season was not incredible all his numbers were down across the board from 03 he dealt with a tone of injuries after missing only 2 games the pervious two seasons due to suspension. He and Shaq was beefing coming into the season and on top of that he had the false scandal hanging over his head. And top it off had by far his worst finals. He was incredible particularly in the second half of the season where only KG was the only player playing better than. And he had a good western conference playoffs run but overall not the KOBE level of season I expected him to have coming off of arguably the best season of his career in 03.

Kobe wasn’t allowed to use his quickness and speed advantage on prince in the finals because the whole paint was extremely clogged. Go back and look at the paint and compare it to today. Kobe would go around him every time if he had some spacing but he had to settle for jumpers where prince length could bother his shot. If they still had horry maybe it would have been different.

They definitely needed Malone & Grant, or Malone & Horry. With Malone on the floor, opponent had to respect his scoring or passing ability. That means others on defense couldn't cheat off of the guy they were guarding. Once Kobe got in ISO, it was usually over. He was unguardable.

I understand his pov tho because shaq wasnt playing defense at this point but wanted the ball the same as before. So shaq wanted to gain over 100lbs, be lazy on defense, never guard the pnr, and still get the ball the same. Kobe worked too hard to just give it to shaq every time
