Kobalt 24v XTR 1/2 impact Takes off Semi Tire

Note this tire was put on by a service truck and definitely over torqued With a 1” air impact

After each nut is loosened the remaining ones get tighter. This is why when your removing a manifold or header the last bolt breaks or strips out. Once you loosen your first couple bolts tighten them back up a bit and it will help not snap any bolts

Excellent test. I just bought the 3/8 inch cobalt right angle impact wrench and it is fantastic. I drive a civic, so I don't need the big Kobalt that you have for your truck, but my father was a trucker for 25 years and it was cool to watch you remove your tire with a consumer bought impact wrench. Truckers are the best - keep trucking!!

I don't have the model you have, I have the next model down from it. But, I also don't own a tractor / trailer. Mine fits my needs to the Tee. It takes off every nut and loosens every bolt on my car and van. Works perfect for me. I liked it so much that went out and bought the Kobalt 1/4" drive 24 volt impact. Even it takes off the wheel lugs on my van and me car. I only get the 1/2" impact out if I get one too tight for the 1/4" drive. 40 years ago I had a Craftsman 115 volt 1/2" impact. It was junk and could not take off wheel lugs. I was afraid to get my Kobalt but thanks to youtube videos, I learned they have come long with with electric impact wrenches . Kobalt makes great tools. ......and I don't work for Lowe's. Barry

Nice demonstration there, but a semi lug nuts should call for Milwaukee M18 fuel 3/4” or even the 1” impact wrenches. 3/4” rated for 1,600ft-lbs, while the 1” is absolutely insane, rated for 1,800ft-lbs !
