KOB FISHING WITH LIVE MULLET. Caught some bycatches too!

I took Xandre on a quick afternoon session with the hopes of catching a kob. after we battled net live mullet, we headed down to the beach. The water looked really good for a kob. I had really high hopes the will hook and land a good number of kob. With the first live mullet being eaten by a kob within five minutes I thought it is game on. Unfortunately that was the only kob bite we had, shortly after the kob we started to catch some other species on the squid bait. our kob in South Africa is similar to the Mulloway a.k.a Jewfish that is found in Australia.

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzread.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Thanks Xander for another great video and a great kobbie. Zandre has really come along in leaps and bounds and is definitely going to be challenging his dad very soon. What a way for him to spend the day before school. Quality time with his dad catching fish.

@@zoolookfishing I am looking to purchase a pair of wetsuit pants. Just not sure of the thickness. Would 2mm be too thick for long distance walking as I walk around 3km on the beach to get to my spot. Sorry to pick your brain but I am having trouble finding much info online.
