Dude.. Keeping the octave down clean while nailing the huge intervals, and all the lines during the solo. Wow. ❤
Great performance!
One of the best bass lines of '23. Awesome playing Brosef. #_#
Those guys rocks
Hell Yeah!
incredible.... as a drummer I was wondering if this was some other dimension that bassists get to see when they play whateverthefuc Sam unlocked. Seeing similar facial expressions during those _soaring_ beautiful passages proves my theory *correct* ✨

Fellow drummer here. Huge fan of all these musicians, but Sam Wilkes is just amazing.
Every KNOWER member is just nutty, not much else I can say about it. And so is you! Insane performance, man
Wow !!! Thanks for doing this
YASSSSSSS!!!!!!!❤
talent!
YES MATE! I had a go too but you’ve absolutely nailed it - the solo section is intense and you totally smashed it. Well done!

Sam Wilkes is not of this world
W.O.W 😮
Goddamn bass magician! Stellar technique
Bro first of all that was insane!!! So great! I find it funny how you at 3:02 use all your concetration and energy on playing the right notes (something which in it self is incredibly well done - something i'm no where near capable of doing) while Sam is just shaking his head like crazy xD
You absolutely nailed it dude, your bass and effects sound crazy and your groove is nasty haha ! That "classical" lick at 3.03min is mind blowing, like how did Sam even think about putting this within this headbanging masterpiece ? 😂

Metal and classical aren't mutually exclusive. Children of Bodom's first three or four albums are a pretty great examples.

That's awesome! I like how both you and Sam look super relieved at the end of the take. This looks like a real workout, and you did great!
Wow, that was great! You even got the faces down…I mean, when playing a groovy song like that you gotta do the faces. Well done 👌🏼🙂
Awesome job. I can barely play this at half speed on the best of days 😂
F*cking nailed it. well done here man....
Nasty AF!
Fuck yes! Very nice job. One of my favorite Knower jams. I've been able to figure out part of Sam Wilkes bass line for the this jam but not all of it. Thank you!!!

Can you do Overtime next?? This was beautifully played. Thanks for posting!
awsome ;D;D;D
Bad Ass!!!
hey Vsauce, Michael here
Thanks for transcribing, now I can play it, too. Any reason you are bouncing back and forth from the D and A (on A string and E string) during the 3rd chord of the chorus instead of just playing 5th fret D and open A on the same string? I make those choices sometimes for tone, but wondering why you did it
@HuwFoster

Generally speaking I prefer to play fretted notes in that kind of phrase, because it offers more control over the phrasing, note length, velocity etc. Also, that’s how Sam plays it on the original!
Hey, Vsauce! Micheal here. Allow me to rip the bass with this banger..
This is so good! Can I ask, is this in standard? Also, what are the notes on that first descending arpeggio? That should set me on a good path to learning this. Sounds awesome!
@HuwFoster

Yup, in standard, although the octave pedal gets things a bit lower (D). They're essentially minor 7 arpeggios - the first one is C - F - C - D.

@@HuwFoster Oof that CFCD is fun to step down at that tempo. Crazy figure for an arpeggio. I like that it just moves up chromatically, your pointer really helped!
what does the octave do here? make the bass sound like its lower tuned?
@HuwFoster
9 ай бұрын
Yes, exactly. However, it also changes the tone, making it subbier and rounder, a bit like a square or a sine wave on a synth. I was blending the mix so that it was mostly sub, but typically it's used with a bit more of the dry sound. A classic version of the effect is the Boss OC-2, which is what Sam Wilkes is playing on the original version.
You enjoyed yourself right? I did too, thanks.

Thanks for your great transcription...but the intro is wrong...listen slow and carefully, the are two 5th down and finally a flat six...c-f-bb-d, c#-f#-b-d#, d-g-c-e...this are all major-9 chords...

Hi Tobias, thanks for this - you're right. I've updated the transcription, and changed the enharmonic spelling while I was at it.
