MRI means Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This sounds like a very serious investigation, but it has a very important use. There are many questions that patients keep asking us. Is there any danger in this? Will there be any problem in lying in a cave? Or is there any kind of radiation? I will answer all these questions through this video. MRI is a radiation-free investigation. There is no type of radiation in this. That is why even pregnant women get their MRI done in the second and third trimester if they want to do a detailed evaluation of the child. This is absolutely a radiation-free modality. There are many patients who have a tumor and their treatment is going on, they also come under follow-up by MRI.

Most MRIs are plane and contrast is used only when a part has to be evaluated in detail, any infection or any type of tumor we are suspecting. There are some indications of MRI like any type of stroke. In such cases, MRI is the investigation of choice. Second, MSK, which is musculoskeletal. If there is pain in any bone, if there is pain of sports injury, or if there is any kind of sprain in the knee, shoulder, elbow or wrist, in this kind of any problem, MRI is done, that modality of choice is there. After that, if there is any problem of any abdomen in the patient, or if there is any kind of PIT or CBD problem, then MRCP is the investigation of choice................
