A computerized tomography (CT) is a medical imaging test that involves taking a series of X-ray images from various angles around your body which are then processed with the help of a computer to create slices or cross-sectional images of the bones, soft tissues and blood vessels inside your body. A CT scan provides more detailed information than plain X-rays and is particularly useful to quickly examine people who may have internal injuries from accidents or other trauma.

In general, you need to expose the bodily portion that needs to be examined. Make sure to speak with your doctor or nurse so they can give you detailed instructions.
Depending on the region being scanned, you might need to wear a gown. You could also be asked to take off your jewellery, eyeglasses, and any metal objects which might interfere with image results. Refrain from eating or drinking for a few hours before your scan
