Knog Blinder X Rear Light Review: Best Cycling Lights

Спорт

Knog Blinder X offers a lot of features that other lights do not. The light comes with an integrated USB plug, which means you don’t have to deal with USB cables. The battery life is outstanding and lasts 2.5 hours on the highest output mode and up to 60 hours on an eco-friendly one. It also includes a low battery life indicator so you know when it is time to charge.

Thank you. Could you please advise, how long it lasts in flashing mode (which I would be using)?

Hi, you are welcome! I never actually calculated the total run time on the eco flash mode, but when using it for 30 mins 5 days a week and then 3 hours during the weekend, I end up charging it once a month or so. Hope this helps.

Hi! I am in love with these lights but I have a doubt about the durability of it. I know that they are waterproof but I've got some worries about the USB connection being integrated. Does it have signs of oxidation or corrosion? I think that it may lead the product to be discarded if it happens.

Hi, no, this did not happen. Don't see any signs of oxidation or corrosion after 2 years of use. Can't speak of anything beyond 2 years, but it does not look like oxidation or corrosion will be an issue. Hope this helps!

If you put it on your seat post will the angle be wrong since the seat post slopes backwards?

  • @bikedriven

Hei Neil, Actually, no. They thought about it, and the clipping system's angle accounts for the angle of a seat post. I did not experience any problems and you shouldn't too. Hope it helps :)

My biggest concern with these lights is that the usb part is just sticking out and might get damaged over time

I am using this light for over 2 years now and have no issues with the USB connector. It is actually very sturdy. Unless you will be somehow applying pressure to it, you should be okay. Hope this helps!

@@WARDISWARD No, the light is very good quality. Also, the battery is great. On saving mode, I charge it only every few weeks, sometimes even once a month (if I don't ride as much).

Hi, this will depend on the mode you are using. For example, the battery lasts 2.5 hours on the highest output mode (I almost never use it) and up to 60 hours on an eco-friendly one (this is my go-to choice for night & winter riding). Hope it helps!

Hey Tommy, I don't have an aero seat post to confirm 100%, but my impression is that you will struggle with attaching this light. I would suggest checking out this one instead - ride.lezyne.com/products/strip-drive-pro Hope it helps and thanks for the comment!

Why does he not specifically show the eco mode? Or mention how many lumens the light puts out in eco mode? No point in having a light that says 60hours! if it's not bright enough to be used safely at night.

Hey Michael, Unfortunately, no. You might be able to come up with a custom solution for your helmet, but most likely you will not be able to make it work. This light is made for seat posts only. Hope this helps :)
