Thanks for the review. The fact that so many lights don't have easily-replaceable batteries is pretty disappointing. Do we really need more throwaway lights? Yes, sure, it may last for a couple of years, but after that you're throwing out the housing, the electronics and possibly perfectly good diodes because they wanted to increase sales by not making the battery replaceable. Perhaps there's a battery replacement program we don't know about?

Thanks for the review! I'm very fond of my Light and Motion VIS 1000 headlight which I've had for about 18 months, it's holding up perfectly. The VIS 1000 Trooper model is currently on sale for $30 (!), and the top brightness level is 1000 lumen. The light offers 3 brightness modes for steady light output, plus one attention grabbing pulsing mode that L&M calls "SafePulse" that intersperses a regular low pulse with an attention grabbing brighter flash every few seconds. They claim it's less likely to blind or dazzle motorists. I also really like the very bright amber side lights for much greater visibility from the side. It offers a similar color illuminated power button that informs of battery status. Perhaps best of all, they're designed and made by a small manufacturer in California (cue Bill and Ted air guitar). I don't know of any other US made bike lights. Lest this sound like an ad -- my only complaint is the micro USB connector for charging, I wish it used USB-C like the Knog Blinder 600, but it's not a deal killer for me.

Enjoyed your video but confused about one thing. Why are you throwing out your AirTags when the battery die? You mention this in your review. Why aren’t you just replacing the battery? It’s super easy to twist them and replace them with the standard lithium watch type battery? Unless the AirTag died.

Interested how it would compare to my Nightrider Lumina 1000. I am in the market for another light to have a second, but I am heavily invested in Nightrider mounts for all my bikes.

Great question. I wouldn't leave a light system you like for this specific light. This one is purely going to be built on aesthetics in my opinion. If you are looking for a 1000 light, my favorite one is on crazy sale right now: lightandmotion.com/products/vis-1000-trooper?variant=35708799320214
