Knockhill Trackday in Fiesta ST150 (with ROOF RACK)

So... after our terrible last race weekend of the season at Snetterton, we decided to go and have a bit of fun at Knockhill Racing Circuit! Also to see how far off a race car time I could get in my road car..!
Track was a little greasy, and soaking in the afternoon... But the wee standard Fiesta ST (bar exhaust/filter/lowering springs) went a treat!!
Considering we also had a roofrack on, binding rear brakes and well used tyres, getting into the 1:06s was above all expectations..! For race car time reference, I managed a 1:05.914 in the wet, 1:02.097 in the dry...

You were proper throwing it around, nice driving! Do you have any problems with the PAS fluid overheating?

Cheers bud. Yeah, the PAS fluid boiled on me a few times... Alot of guys in the series fit coolers to them.

@@OrrcoRacing thanks for the reply. Do you know if there's any drilling involved when fitting the PAS cooler ?
Hi was your car pretty standard...and have you had any issues with the duratec engine of using oil etc. Thinking of buying one of these...look like fun ??

Hi, it is yes! Had a full system exhaust, filter and lowering springs! They are great fun little cars!!

@@OrrcoRacing nice you were pushing that little beast big time. Want one for a fun daily and I work for Ford so seems a no brainer . Can you vouch for the duratec as a good engine...I've hear bad stories about the engines ?? Also are they powerful enough ??

It's just a standard Ford item I believe. The Ford comes with pre drilled and threaded holes under the weather strips, paint and filler. You need some confidence to find them, but they're there. See here: www.fiestastoc.com/forums/topic/279241-st-roofrack-fitment/
Hey, can you mention the roof rack model you're using? I'm currently looking to add one to my 3 door 2005 model but i can't find anything online :/

did you have any luck finding a roof rack dennis ? ive just bought this model fiesta but cant find a roof rack anywhere for it

@@thepittsrnr yes and no, there is a genuine ford one, but you can only find it used, for me i found some on ebay and ebay-kleinanzeigen (germany). Also mine happened to fit those years inbetween that dont even have screw holes in the roof, in this case you would have to get the rack from thule. Its not quite as strong but it will work, a friend of mine transported a kayak a couple hundret kms. What year is yours and what do you plan on using it for?

@@D3nn1s mines a 2005 fiesta climate with no rear opening windows , it does not have any fixing points for a roof rack either just a metal gulley track thing ,.. yeah ive seen the thule racks but cant find one for my car , only seems to be the 4 door models , ..its just to put 1 pair of ladders on now and again..thanks
